APG: Sharp Senses--What am I missing?

Rules Questions

Hey guys,

When I first saw the feat Improved Stonecunning, it confused me until I discovered that it was a prereq for a Tremorsense feat. But I'm still confused about Sharp Senses.

It's a feat for races with Keen Senses, the racial ability to have a +2 bonus to Perception. It increases this bonus to +4. This seems to be strictly worse than Skill Focus (Perception) and Alertness, in a small way at first and then in an extreme way from level 10 and beyond. So is there something I'm missing, or is this feat only for the diehard Perception king character concept who has already taken both of those feats and craves another +2?

Sovereign Court

It stacks, so yeah, Perception King is the target audience here.

Plus, just because it's not a prereq now doesn't mean it won't be ni some future book.

Fair 'nough. It just doesn't seem like a diverse enough market, I guess, to be worth printing the feat, compared to some of the amazing goodies they have in the APG. If they could have made space to print something game-changingly cool more like Combat Patrol, for instance.

I'd like the feat to be able to stand on its own as an option against the other Perception feats--maybe if it gave both the +2 and the benefit of the Eagle Eyes at once it'd be pretty tempting (keeping the Wis 13 requirement of Eagle Eyes of course)...hmm...
