Hey everyone,
I've been looking more carefully through the spells in the APG, and I got to Bestow Grace. I had already read all the short descriptions, so I knew what I was getting into--a spell that would give any character in the party their Cha bonus to all saves, like a Paladin.
I was a bit confused when I read the details and saw that Bestow Grace gives a Sacred Bonus--this seems to indicate that it stacks with Divine Grace. The target is "1 good creature touched", so the Paladin can target herself and become more-or-less invincible to any saving throws that other party members have a chance to succeed.
Even without the ability to do this, the spell is extremely powerful for a party with other Charisma-based characters. For instance, in our Council of Thieves party, without any attempt to consult each other, we have two Paladins, a Sorcerer, a Summoner, an Oracle/Bard (dead), and an espionage-based Rogue, so only the Rogue has lower than 20 Charisma. I mean, my Summoner would love a +6 to all saves--since she has a +2 Cloak of Resistance already, it would offer the same bonus as the 8th level spell Protection from Spells (though at a shorter duration of course, and it's single target, but it doesn't have an expensive component). Granted the Sorcerer isn't Good, so he's not a valid target.
So what do you guys think--am I missing something or can Paladins give themselves double their Cha bonus to all saves using this spell?
