Looking for a few suggestions. Our group just finished HotCK and are now at the point of choosing what to do during their year of down time. The one PC, who is a water-based sorc is actually twins with Haleen with that Finding Haleen trait. Once the loot gets totaled and unwanted items sold off, she's planning on paying off Haleen's debt herself- and given Haleen started with 320 gold on her person, they might actually be able to scrounge up the 2 grand.
So I'm looking for some suggestions on possible PC rewards for doing this. I'm leery of making Haleen a cohort, since one of the PC's already took the Personal Romance choice and the party is getting a much needed cleric out of that. In addition, the Haleen/PC relationship is a bit strained, and I'm not certain if she'd go for that or not. I have no problem mixing and matching rewards as needed (the monk is opening a fighting school in the battle market, but he has no interest in money - so I swapped the Research reward in for that choice)
Thoughts?

Well there are a few possibilities:
On the other hand if the players pay off the debt then she will hang around (probably with the smugglers if the players leave them alive). Almah will tolerate her on the basis that she is the sibling of one of the PC's. Thus there is no reward for her immediate rescue.
If you go with this then in book 6 you could replicate "Administration" as a reward. Haleen escapes capture and flees (maybe with a message) to warn the Pactmasters of Katapesh. Thus forewarned the Pactmasters contact the players after sensing their return with powerful divination magics.
Or you could use Haleen's criminal contacts to replicate a Criminal downtime ("where did you find this Haleen?", "You really don't want to know...")
Unfortunately I don't have book 6 in front of me so I can't go through the possibilities but I reckon it is easier to replicate one of the rewards from that.

Perhaps Harleen is a liberated woman who would take great offense at someone paying off her bills. Or perhaps she has really poor judgement and with one debt paid off will just get herself into some other trouble.
Either way, with the debt paid off she ends up leaving. Perhaps she pays the PC back. Perhaps not. Maybe she pops up again in The Jackal's Price. She's in trouble with Father Jackal, has angered the Pactmasters, or is in some other bind and comes to the PC to be bailed out again.
