Was this changed back from Dog to Riding Dog? I notice the PRD states Riding Dog but this post of Errata says otherwise:

I was never changed back, but it was one bit of errata that got missed when the new stuff came out. James said it should be there next time.

I would think any major changes like that would be immediately in the PRD on paizo.com. There is a major difference between dog, common and dog, riding. With riding dog in the list, you have no need to use anything else( ranged trip attack ) on the list in combat. The rest are pure utility, situational and fluff.
The change is listed on the summon list on d20pfsrd.com but for our PFS games online, it's hard to take a third party site over the primary site.

They've said many times they do not update errata to the PRD until it gets printed.
