Reducing Natural Armor Bonus

In the Bestiary a Hill Giant has a +9 natural armor bonus. But the module "Curse of the Riven Sky" p. 10, the hill giant Beshtu has only a +4 for natural armor.

What are the rules for reducing the value given in the Bestiary for natural armor?
