Judge my monstrous elk men!

Dark Archive

Hi all,

I'm looking to replace centaurs in my Kingmaker campaign, and I came up with Large bipedal elk men. Does this look CR3-ish to you?

Thanks!

Eldren
These large humanoid creatures have the antlered heads of stags, hooved feet, and dress in furs and leathers, wielding spears. Their faces are feral, but intelligence gleams in their eyes.

Basically they are some kind of deer minotaur?
Like the old achoreai? Did you look at the Ibixans?

What are their stat adjustments?
Why the DR/silver? And they some kind of lycanthropes?
If they are bipeds, their hooves are on their feet only, are you sure they can use them as attacks? Do they rearkick?
Why the Lightning Reflexes? I would understand better Greater Fortitude or Toughness.

Also, I just noticed: Int 2 for a humanoid is very low. Then maybe you shouldn't say their eyes glow with intelligence...

why dr5/silver? thats not a common thing on monstrous humanoids, or most cr 3's.

Any being that dresses in clothing/armor and uses tools for convenience or combat should have a better INT than 2.

How can their eyes gleam with intelligence if they aren't smarter than the feral animals they aren't supposed to be?

If you stated one up as a 3rd level human fighter how would you do it?

15, maybe 20, point buy and a woodsy sort of motif.

Your results might tell you what the rules would do and then you can modify based on your vision.
