The New Classes and Key Classes

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Into which class groups will the new classes fall into (referring to table 2-4 on page 297 of the Bestiary), including the magus? Will antipaladins count as part of the monks and paladins group?

Which new classes exactly are you referring to?

The Advanced Player's Guide ones- ie. alchemist, cavalier, etc.

Oh okay, I jst dont remember a magus or anti-paladin there.

Let me give you a rundown of how I would handle them:
Spell: Summoner, Oracle, Witch (with Wizard, cleric, druid and sorcerer; although there is no existing monster so far that they would stack with)
Combat: Cavalier (with Fighter, barbarian and ranger)
Skill: Inquisitor (with bard and rogue)
Others: Alchemist (with Paladin and Monk)

These are just my opinion, I guess the cavalier is and the spell classes are pretty obvious
Inquisitor has a lot of skill points and some secondary casting, so he is up the bard's alley in that role
And for the Alchemist, his role is so specialized that I didn't think it would fit anywhere else. He does something that emulates spellcasting but he mainly does it to buff his own abilities.

Good classifications!

The magus is an arcane/warrior hybrid that will be published in the Ultimate Magic next spring, so will almost certainly be Combat, and maybe Spell as well (theoretically).

If antipaladin (an evil variant of paladin also in the APG) counts as part of the "paladin" group, I expect there will be a lot of monsters will antipaladin levels in future adventures!
