Does running / charging give a -2 penalty to CMD?

While running/charging, I know you get a -2 AC bonus, but wouldn't you also get a -2 penalty to CMD as well? The logic behind it would seem that it should be easier to trip/knockdown someone running than not.

You are correct sir.

Also, a negative modifier to anything is never a bonus, always a penalty, to avoid that confusion.

What about things like fighting defensively? Would that increase your CMD? What if you used power attack to strike an opponent and then used your second attack to trip, does the penalty to attack apply to your CMB?

Yep. Any bonus to AC applies, as does any penalty. Same for your CMB. I think. There are a few bonuses you don't count, IIRC. But I do not recall what.

Luck Bonus to AC is not on the list of bonuses applicable to CMD, and I think there are a few others. It would appear that the INTENT is for all bonuses applicable to Touch AC to also apply to CMD, but the actual wording strays from that, which is incredibly stupid because you have to remember that small list of variances if you want to play by the RAW. This was reported right away after the Core Rules release, but HOPEFULLY it´s something that will be corrected in Errata. Obviously, the opportunity is there to cut some words here (by succintly referencing Touch AC bonuses as a group) which would be available if other sections nearby might need a few more words, in keeping with the ¨don´t move page references¨ guidelines. (Irrationally Optimistic Thinking?)
