Was just working on writing up my first summoner. Got my Eidolon almost finished, just needs a little bit of tweaking. His AC is 27 without any buffs. I figure to put shield, Barkskin, and Mage armor on him to raise it. But Mage armor is an armor bonus, and the Eidolon already gets a +8 armor bonus from the table. So can it stack or not? I've seen many other people adding it in their, but it seems to me that it shouldn't be. Perhaps that was before the final playtest?

The +8 is a natural armor bonus usually. The Barkskin wouldn't stack.
EDIT: You can split the +8 up between Armor and Natural Armor in any way you wish. Almost always, it will be better to put it all in Natural Armor, though.
So that would give him a +10 nat. armor bonus then? Because down in the base stats it says he has a +2 nat. armor bonus to start with. Then you look at the table and it says that he has a +8 armor bonus, but it doesn't say natural. I also didn't see where it says you can divide it up, is that in some other text?
EDIT: Nevermind, I need to read more than just the first sentence of a paragraph. lol

Well here is what it says about Barkskin....
Barkskin toughens a creature's skin. The effect grants a +2 enhancement bonus to the creature's existing natural armor bonus. This enhancement bonus increases by 1 for every three caster levels above 3rd, to a maximum of +5 at 12th level.
The enhancement bonus provided by barkskin stacks with the target's natural armor bonus, but not with other enhancement bonuses to natural armor. A creature without natural armor has an effective natural armor bonus of +0.
So I guess the question is which bonuses are enhancements and which are natural. I got +2 that all eidolons get, the +8 from the table, and another +4 from the evolutions. I see it as the evolution bonus being an enhancement and thus not stacking and the other two being natural bonuses that barkskin will stack with.

Well the bonuses from the tables and abilities say:
"Natural Armor bonus"
Not "Enhancement bonus to natural armor"
Those increases to natural armor are just that -- increases -- they are not enhancements to the eidolion's natural armor -- they are simple increases, much like the increase natural armor feat for monsters.

Yes, Barkskin stacks! I was wrong!
I have a Summoner, who also has the Barkskin spell. It's useless on my Eidolon, because he has a Amulet of Natural Armor, which is an enhancement bonus. THAT'S what I was thinking of. Sorry to everyone!
The +2 from the base, the +8 from the table, and (I assume) the bonuses from evolutions are all to Natural Armor bonus. So, any enhancement bonuses (like from Barkskin or AoNA) would stack with those.
Anyways, the Mage Armor would stack only if you didn't have the +8 in normal armor, as Mage Armor grants an Armor bonus, not an enhancement to armor.

Where is your edilion getting a +8 armor bonus (not natural armor bonus)?
Is he using bracers of armor? (nothing wrong with that btw, the edilion can use the bracer slot better than the summoner normally can)
It seems he is getting tripped up by continuity issues with the tables presented for advancement.
The +8 armor you are referring to is "natural armor" not "armor." Mind you the playtest materials are not final material quality and lack a great deal of polish so RAI is big with them.

Okay, I think I got it now. The wording in this stuff isn't that exact. But hopefully the APG will clarify that! So I got his Nat Armor at a +14 (+2 base, +8 table, +4 evolutions) and a 0 armor bonus. So Shield, Barkskin, and Mage armor should all stack, raising his AC to 39 total.

Can they use bracers of armor? It says that they can't use any armor of any kind because it interferes with the link between the eidolon and summoner.

Yes, but remember than the summoner and pet share item slots, so bracers of armor prevents the summoner from wearing any kind of bracers.
