And by templating, I mean the processing of writing up a person's stats into a block.
I'm managing a bunch of characters and I like to use the NPC-style blocks to present them for consistency. If I have to pull one directly from a book, I'd like all the information presented exactly the same way as my other prepared characters and since I can't change the NPC blocks in the books, I need to change my presentation.
I can usually get pretty close, especially after the Gamemastery and NPC books came out, but there are still a number of things not included and I was wondering if there was a templating guide for it and if it was available to the general public (my guess is no). But I thought I'd ask.
In the mean time, perhaps we can compile a list of tricky templating questions here (though I fear I'm the only one anal enough about this to care).
E.g. how do you template spell-like abilities that are not uses per day, but rather per attack or per square (or feet), etc.?

Per feet? You mean stuff like shadow dancer's shady teleport, right?
I'd add it as a special ability under offense and put the distance you can cover per day in parentheses. You could even put it after the speed, as it is a form of movement.
Abilities that are applied per attack are listed after the damage, as "(... plus ABILITY)" and further elaborated under special attacks.
