Also, I think it's safe to say that Christopher Nolan is one of the most talented and creative directors in the entire film industry these days. That creative part is important, especially in the wake these last few years of so many remakes and reimaginings. He brings us fresh stuff. Starting with Momento back in 2000, the two Batman movies, The Prestige, and now Inception. He's just telling great stories!
And it doesn't hurt that he loves to use Michael Caine in his movies - that dude kicks ass!

Waiting for the wife to get ready so we can go do stuff. Going out to Target and Barnes & Noble. At Target I've got to get some toys. One for the son of Carl from the Flagons and Dragons Podcast- the boy recently turned one year old. Another toy is for Toys for Tots - we'll have a bin at my office Christmas party. Then Barnes and Noble to get something Nook-related for my sister-in-law.
Got a friend's 40th birthday party to go to later tonight - a guy from my gaming group and fellow homebrewer. And since several other folks attending will also be homebrewers, there should be some good stuff there. I'll be bringing a few bottles of my PF IPA, and a few bottles of Irish Stout. Might mix in a few Abita beers,a nd some Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA.

He is a great director, as far as modern directors go at the least. And Michael Caine is always Win.
I'll admit to not seeing any of Leo's more recent films, I may have to give one of them a watch, but I really got burned out on that dude.

I used to feel that way. He's actually grown to be a rather decent actor. It started sometime around Gangs of New York, I think.

I only liked two movies of his. Well, I only liked his part in two movies. Catch Me If You Can, because looking 12 worked for that role, and The Departed.
You know, because he was shot in the head.
Which is, interestingly, the same reason I liked Matt Damon in that as well...

We're going to see Voyage of the Dawn Treader this afternoon.
OMG yes, you must see Inception. My brother forced my mother and I to see it when she visited in the $1 theater, and it was awesome. Simply amazing.

He was incredible in Revolutionary Road, although it's depressing as hell.

Watch Infernal Affairs before you watch The Departed. Same movie, but the original is MUCH better.

...I walked into the FLGS and my friends who were there looked up at me and said..."What are you running this week?" I stared at them with a stupefied look on my face and then I told them to make fourth level characters using PF rules, one magic item (needing my approval), and 500 gp to spend on gear. I told them to take care of all details including languages and all gear (if it wasn't written down they didn't have it) before we started. They would be starting in Brevoy and close to the World Wound in Golarion. I also explicitly told them that I would be changing "some" rules, that I intended to screw their characters over (royally), and that I would come up with whatever we would be doing as they made characters which meant I wasn't worrying too much about balancing it to their power level.
I screwed them by transporting their characters from Golarion to a new world, with new rules, and new monsters, and new languages (including common) they don't know, and they lost some of the equipment they had. Oh, they were transported from the snowy northern tundra into a reed swamp similar to the everglades.
Success means that I need to keep coming up with stuff for when we play next weekend. :P

+1 to this. Just change the names somewhat for more commonly known locals, or use their old world names.

Your lack of smurfable soul grants you a +4 to Perception and common sense checks. :) The same idiots down here, local and visitor alike, get 30 IQ points dumber in typical FL thunderstorms.

I think the only reason they haven't done any PF Podcasts is because we haven't done any PF gaming since before the end of October. I'll mention it tonight and see what we come up with.

** spoiler omitted **
I hit on it one day when I was looking for names for an Egyptian style culture - found a map of Egypt on some website (a U.N. site I believe) and buitl up a list of cool names. Did the same with other countries from the middle east, Europe, Russia, Africa, etc.....

I have at times taken a country map for a place like Poland and looked at the names. Then I take them and use them for the setting. For cities rivers counties and at times a country named after the region. Works well.

Bribri was wacked by a zombie. Full health to -4 in a single attack, and then it was all over except for the nommin'. Turned out OK because we didn't burn the corpse and she arose to return the flavor to the rest of the party.
I was seriously impressed at how fast sm made Vedette after that, especially because Vedette kicks ass.

Well we are now over a foot of snow since 11pm last night. On top of the foot or more we already had on the ground. And we have winds speeds in the 20 to 40 mph range. Seems like a good night to stay home.

Yup, they got to kill me twice, which means they got twice as much xp for killing their party member, plus they only had to split it 6 ways...
I sense a conspiracy!
No that is when they consistently kill the character and split the goods as party treasure unshared with new PC's.

Snow? You mean you people already have white stuff on the ground? Its been in the 50's around here. Heck we have a fire hazard warning because it has been so dry people are afraid of the grass catching on fire. Now it is supposed to be in the teens tonight and stay that way for a few days. We still do not expect any snow.
