We could meet up at the Source or somewhere to discuss it out. I'd be more than willing to drive up to the cities for something like this.
Like tonight. I scored two tickets to the Tron: Legacy 20-minute sneak peak at Roseville's IMAX.
That's not a terrible idea, in fact it would be cool but I know for me I couldn't make it unless it's the weekend, and right now my car is currently up in Duluth.=(

Funny enough I would love to live in the states when I finish my PHD. However with immigration bs I'm not sure both me and my husband would be able to go. So we had to do the next best thing even though the states has the biggest opportunity for my husbands career we have to go to Europe and work. Sadly enough with laws the way they are there is no guarantee that if one of us lands a great job the other may not be able to come along because our marriage isn't recognized and therefore immigration becomes a problem. So we have to move to the UK wait for me to finish my PHD and hope enough biology profs retire in the next few years.

With respect to that subtype of nutterbutters(mmm..sounds like a delicious cookie), well, unfortunately in ANY psych class you're going to get the people who sign up because they want to either understand themselves while simultaneously debunking the psychiatrist they have been seeing(possibly for a few years). It happens.

Sort of a screwed up situation there, my dad is a landed immigrant my grandad was a citizen of the US and part of the airforce. My grandmother was a landed immigrant up until my grandfather died they then granted her citizenship. My father and his siblings were born in Saarbrucken, Germany, my grandmother was from there and when they moved to the states apparently they didn't get citizenship. Not sure the whole story as to why. I might have a basis for dual citizenship, I lived in NY for a few years with my uncle while going to school. But that was all on a student visa. So basically the whole situation is kinda muddy.

*groan*
Its a silly fluff degree but my academic path required a pit stop to build basic credentials before moving on...
Anyway it is in "Integrated Humanities" which is billed as a degree for applying concepts from the Humanities in "real life" scenarios primarily business and government. It really is "Liberal Arts Degree II: More Harder" with a certain ability to choose your own adventure. So basically my degree will be a weirdly dressed Masters in Communication/Communication Philosophy with some weird business cogs in it. Fitting considering where my undergrad came from.
It will hopefully serve my purposes...I am looking at a law degree and a Phd in Communications, assuming I don't just decide to throw my academic weight behind my current career and end up with more weird business degrees or an Organizational Psychology PhD.
Of course my academic pursuits are smoke screens for my soon to be prolific writing career...heh...I wish.
