Oh, and a happy anniversary to our LPM and Lady Solnes.
All the marital bliss in the thread is making me feel funny.
I was thinking the same thing about all the last week's bank account reports. :(
So...Moorluck and Solnes are actually married? Here I assumed they'd been living in sin for all these years.

Cash is still king.
Personally, that version still ties with Depeche Mode's version. It's really just a style difference, but it's not like Hurt where the cover is infinitely better than the original.

I think time will tell if he did or did not have a much wider range of influence on music since his legacy is just now in fruition and Elvis has been passed for a much longer time.
But to repeat myself, Elvis for one was far more influential than Johnny Cash.
Fair enough.

Cash is still king.
Which is hard to do. It's almost like the song "Hurt" was written for Cash.
Treppa said the same thing about Depeche Mode, but both are much better than the Marilyn Manson version. Watching the video for that is a lot like watching something by Lady GaGa, and I'm only now realizing how much she's like a white washed version of MM. It's scary really.

Very, very scary.

I wouldn't say Lady Gaga is like a whitewashed version of Marilyn Manson, but she is going down the same sort of path he did. Started out edgy and surreal, but after a few too many singles it's just getting cliche. Yes, you're dressed as a nun while doing lewd things with a rosary and shirtless soldiers that look like Moe dance in the background, good for you. At least the music is still catchy.
EDIT: Oh, and I just started listening to Manson's cover of Personal Jesus. Yeah, it's not that good. The main problem is that his style is too close to the original and it just sounds like the lead singer of Depeche Mode just had a bad cough before recording.

Yeah, I find Lady Gaga's songs to be catchy. It's weird because I hate most pop music these days.

Ke$ha
Who?
Alright, I can agree that at the very least Lady GaGa can be entertaining. At least the number of spoofers on the internet has skyrocketed and those are pretty hilarious.
Still, "Bad Romance" has gotten lodged in my cranium for days at a time. It seems to be impossible to get out of there without some equally catchy song. Bohemian Rhapsody, God's Gonna Cut You Down, and Ran by Flock of Seagulls seem to be the best way to get the song out of my head... but replace it with just some other song.

Really, her only good song is Tik-Tok, and that's only good because it's catchy despite it being trashier than most dumps.

Just watched this weeks new scooby doo. Yes they are making new ones on cartoon network. No I do not watch regularly. My kids are too old to use that as an excuse and my youngest niece is not here. So anyway they had two episodes I recorded.
One with Kiss. Very funny. Paul Stanly played up the stereotype of the money hungry rock star very well.
The second was just a vampire stealing artwork episode. It was set up in a museum of Oddities. In the background of one of the hallways was a group of statues. They were all from the Cthulhu Mythos. Up to and including a statue barely visible of Cthulhu himself. I had to rewind it and take a second look.

Whew! Lucky for me that YouTube doesn't work very well here at my job. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

That's....a disturbingly good point. The thing is, I actually LIKE Lady Gaga.

It's weird, but Scooby Doo apparently has a lot of funky refrences and background stuff in it. I know several hardcore gamers who are REALLY into scooby doo, and there were several people dressed as characters at the con. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a veiled D&D reference in there.
And oh yeah..shoots CJ clone

I'm just disappointed that the only way she could get so popular is by doing all the crazy stuff.

What's truly disturbing is how accurate this is. Now I'm gonna have to go back and listen to some Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash and some Lynyrd Skynyrd and see if I get the refrence.
In other news, I can't stand the Beatles and only barely tolerate Elvis.

I find that there's generally three types of people:
Those that love The Beatles and hate the Stones.
Those that love the Stones and hate The Beatles.
U2 fans.
(by the way: The Beatles + The Rolling Stones = U2)
