One of my players' dream character is a spellcasting type that focuses on telekinesis. I know that Complete Warrior has a Master of the Unseen Hand prestige class, which fits the bill. However, the main problem with that is that a regular character needs to be at least lvl 9 to access that prestige class. My campaigns rarely go beyond lvl 9.
Would it be too game breaking to swap out some wizard abilities or sorcerer abilities to gain access to a weakened form of telekinesis? What would a weak telekinesis look like? What abilities are viable swaps?
This is how he pictures his character (Noctis from Final Fantasy XIII Versus).
Thanks guys

You could start with Hand of the Apprentice as a ghetto form of telekinesis (or telekinetic fist) and give him some special techniques to buff that power.
A feat or PrC ability could allow him to burn a prepared spell or spell slot (for a Sorcerer) and for each level of spell he expends, his use of Telekinetic Fist increases by 1 die. The same feat could give him bonus damage to the TK fist equal to his Int mod (or Cha mod for a Sorcerer). Since he'd be burning through his spell slots to gain increased damage from his class ability, it would probably be fine for a feat or even an Alternate Class Feature that replaces Arcane Bond. Either of those options would be available from 1st level, and wouldn't even necessarily require a PrC.
Another feat or PrC ability could allow him to use the ability (either TK First or Hand of the Apprentice an additional time / day per level in the class that gave him that ability.
Other options would allow for increases range for these abilities, or allow the other option (allowing a generalist wizard to have both hand of the apprentice and the TK fist option), etc.
Enhanced use of 'TK' like cantrips like Mage Hand and Open/Close might also make sense, or the option to use TK Fist to perform ranged disarm or sunder or trip or bull rush or even grapple attempts, could be cool.

The old wizards board had a master of telekineses with 3.5, just google Jean Grey, Wu Jen, and Master of the Unseen Hand. That build was just plain sick. Not sure how to do it in Pathfinder, though.
Slick build, but I'm not sure how it would translate to Pathfinder. Here is the post if any of you were wondering.
