So many spells have a large area of effect from 10 ft total to 20 ft radius, meaning that they effect multiple squares.
The question then is for large creatures that occupy more than one square (ie large or gargantuan). Does that mean that they take damage for every square they occupy or are they hit only once, no matter how many of the squares they occupy (from 1 to many).
Same question for Swarms (which are many creatures). What has me confused is splash damage against a swarm will do 1 point per square (right) that is splashed.
Thanks

A single large creature is damaged only once buy the area spells, as is the swarm, though it take 50 % extra damage from area effects, including splash weapons. In fact, this is the only way to damage swarms composed of fine and diminutive creatures, as they are immune to all weapon damage.
