Monk Flurry of Blows Question

Does a monk add his Strength bonus to Flurry of blows attacks?
It seems like he should.

From GMG p. 275 Battle Monk
Human monk 5
Melee unarmed strike +5 (1d8+1) or
unarmed strike flurry of blows +5/+5 (1d8+1) or
kama +5 (1d6+1) or
kama flurry of blows +5/+5 (1d6+1)
Str 13, Dex 14, Con 12, Int 10, Wis 18, Cha 8

The unarmed strike flurry of blows attack says +5
but a monk uses his level instead of BAB for flurry of blows attacks
level 5 + Strength Bonus +1 = 6

Flurry of Blows gives you a BAB equal to your level, but subtracts 2 for the extra attack. So your FoB will always be equal to your level -2.

Something is missing from your stat block, the monk is getting another +1 from somewhere.

Weapon Finesse--he uses Dex mod rather than Str mod for unarmed strike attack rolls.

So, +5 (BAB) +2 (Dex) -2 (FoB) = +5

For standard unarmed strike +3 (BAB) +2 (Dex) = +5

Yep, that's what was missing. I knew there had to be something in there. I figured it was either Weapon Finesse or Weapon Focus.

ok, I get it now

but the kama flurry of blows +5?

+5 (BAB) -2 (Fob) +1 (Str) = 4

what gives?

Weapon Finesse applies to the kama as well (it covers all Light weapons).

You can use weapon finesse with kama too.

Where it say Weapon Finesse applies to Unarmed Strike?

Unarmed strikes are treated as Light weapons.

See the Light, One-Handed, and Two-Handed Melee Weapons section under Weapons in the Equipment chapter.
