I have some questions about elementals. It use to be that you had to have a magic weapon or spell to hurt an elemental and that where immune spell effects that where if their elemental group.
So would a normal weapon do any damage to a small elemental or medium one?
Also would a lightning bolt hurt an air elemental, cone of cold on a water element, or acid hurt a earth elemental since these are damage types tied to those elements?
Also do air elementals have the ability to turn invisible since generally elementals are invisible in their elemenal they are made of?

That kind of immunity has been replaced by "damage reduction" (DR). The creature ignores the first X hit points of weapon damage if the weapon does not possess the requisite attributes to bypass DR. Creature DR is listed in the "Defenses" section of the stat block.
Elementals get a DR of 5/- (reduce weapon damage by 5 hit points per attack, no bypass) if they are size Large to Huge, and 10/- if they are bigger.
Also, being amorphous, they are not subject to precision damage such as sneak attacks or critical strikes.
Also would a lightning bolt hurt an air elemental, cone of cold on a water element, or acid hurt a earth elemental since these are damage types tied to those elements?
Looking at the stat blocks in the Bestiary, yes to all of these. However fire elementals are immune to fire damage.

Not for generic air elementals; however, invisible stalkers, which are a specialized species of air elemental, have the trait of being always invisible.

1) Nowadays, elementals have DR X/-. Smaller elementals have smaller values of X. A normal weapon might get through their DR, but not all the time--it'll depend on your damage rolls. We're past the days of all elementals needing +2 or better weapons to hit.
2) Yes to all of these. Air elementals don't list immunity to electricity, nor earth elementals to acid. Cone of cold is a cold spell, water elementals lack that subtype and appropriate immunity. So you can zap air elementals (think about what lightning does to air), dissolve earth elementals (makes sense when you think of how acid dissolves lots of stuff), and freeze water elementals.
3) No. Unless otherwise noted, creatures aren't invisible. I'd give you a penalty to notice the elemental at a distance, perhaps, but air elementals look like air. Which is not always pristine and clear.
