Paizo plans to release it at GenCon, effectively making its "on sale" date August 5th. I've seen that they lised it as "available" in late July, and I've read that this is because they want to have it in and shipping to subscribers as it goes on sale at GenCon (basically moving their August releases to late July).
As for local game stores, they usually get their copies about two weeks after Paizo begins shipping to subscribers. The distributors, essentially, are giant subscribers who are in line with everyone else. Once they recieve their product, they have to turn it around to the stores. So my distributor, for instance, has this as available August 10th. Lately they've been pretty accurate (even early with June's stuff), so that's probably a good date.
A really good date that I've found to be accurate for when the books are available in stores is to look at the date the PDF is available for general sale on Paizo.com. There isn't one currently listed for the APG, so that means Paizo still doesn't have a 100% accurate date for when they will have it.
A lot of information for a short question. Sorry. But that's what we are all looking at as we anticipate this book...
Amazon says August 17th, but I keep hearing 8/2 as the official date (by someone whose word I don't entirely trust, but nonetheless).
