Where are the Golarian Dinosaurs at?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

So I've got an interesting idea in my head for a stand alone adventure set around a Prehistoric setting (think small tribes of humans and lots of dinosaurs). Problem is, I would like to set this in current age Golarian but I cant seem to find a good place for the adventure to take place. I would prefer a jungle environment with a coastline that has some volcanic activity around it (part of the planned adventure is underwater and part of it requires a temple located in a volcano). This could be an island, an archipelago, a pennensula, or just a regular coastline but I have to admit an island or archipelago would probably work best.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Dinosaurs can be ANYWHERE in Golarion!!!

They're mostly in the Mwangi Expanse, Sodden Lands, Sargava, Shackles, and Mediogalti Island, though. We've used dinosaurs in other regions though, often as exotic guardians or pets.

Golarion is dino-friendly.

/disclaimer

The entirety of Golarion being dino-friendly has absolutely nothing to do with james jacob's fondness for the beasties.

I'm pretty sure that (in canon) dinosaurs are in a few special valleys in the Realm of the Mammoth Lords too, and wasn't there a picture a while back of a dinosaur fighting a froghemoth in the Darklands on the Paizo Blog?

Dark Archive

Aye, there are indeed dinosaurs up there, as well as an enterance to a lost-world type vault down in Orv (which is where the picture you mention is set).

The mammoth lords is pretty much the opposite of what Im looking for.

Mwangi was my first thought but seeing as the only coastlines in the country were near the Kavva lands and south of Sargava (which has an added bonus of an unamed river with several mouths) I was hesitant to use it since remote locations are a theme Ill be exploring. Still I think I can make that work, especially if I extend that map a few hundred miles southward and make it all part of the Mwangi expanse

Thanks guys

Golarion continues to prove itself as the best campaign world ever.
