I'm looking for some advice on building Barbarian/Fighter character. I already have a concept in mind so he's going to be a Half-elf. I'm hoping to make him very good at dealing damage, have good saves, lots of rages and good tracking.
He is going to start at 7th level with a 25 point-buy. So here's what I'm thinking. Any advice is welcome.
Str 16 + 2 racial
Dex 14
Con 16
Int 10
Wis 12
Cha 8
1st: Barbarian/Feat Iron Will
2nd: Barbarian/Rage Power Scent/Barbarian Feat Uncanny Dodge
3rd: Figher/Feat Extra Rage/Fighter Feat Power Attack
4th: Figher/Fighter Feat Weapon Focus Greatsword
5th: Figher/Feat Extra Rage or Improved Iron Will
6th: Figher/Fighter Feat Weapon Spec Greatsword
7th: Figher/Feat Lunge or Vital Strike

If you want a good tracker, Ranger is your only real choice. Sure, the others can do it, but the Ranger sits back and laughs at their efforts.
To me, Pathfinder doesn't make multiclassing as worth it anymore, unless you're doing it to get into a prestige class.
That being said, is it core-only, all Paizo stuff, old 3.5 included, or what?

Not really interested in going ranger, it doesn't fit the concept. We are using pathfinder core only.
Thanks

Keep a list of what you want him to be able to do.
Make out different builds so that when a different one has something that you'd have liked to have had, you've already made the choice between them. In other words the more work you do now the less buyer's remorse you will have later.
Pure fighter does fairly well and gets some decent abilities that reoccur every so often.
Also consider PrCs available. Is it core only or paizo products only?

I wouldn't waste my 1 rage power on scent. Its flavorful, but one of the weakest on the list. It wont let you track, since you wont have the rage rounds to use it.
Animal Fury, Intimidating Glare and Knock Back would be my recommendations for a barbarian dip. Intimidating Glare works nicely when you combine it and go for Deadly Stroke. Its one of the few ways to make the opponent shaken with a move action, and one of the few ways to make Deadly Stroke worth it IMO.
I also wouldn't go for more than 1 extra rage until you play it out. I don't think you will find yourself running out, but you may not be able to do it every round.
