To challenge myself RP wise (and add some to our campaign to please my GM) I am thinking of having my priestess of Sarenrae attempt to redeem what appears to be our main villain as of late.
A little background, my character has always been Chaotic almost stupidly Good. Instead of allowing the senseless slaughter of every bandit in sight, she more often than not spared their lives and convinced them to work off their debt to society at Oleg's. She was the first to suggest friendship with Elga, and basically the only one the witch prefers to deal with. She fell in love with Akiros Ismort, who the villain used as bait to lure the group away from the capital and subsequently drove the biggest hooty bear ever over some of our buildings and killed our citizens. On the hunt that followed, the villain strolled up to her and told her that her boyfriend was kinda poop, and he was enjoying seeing her party put to the test, then charmed the ever-loving stuffing out of her.
As far as my character knows, this guy with the bat wings and the cloven feet is pretty darn attractive, and competent. And, according to the tenets of her faith and her personal history of doing her utmost to see people brought into the light, she may consider this her ultimate test of faith.
The problem is, then, that he is going to try his darnedest to tempt her. Currently, she serves as the kingdom's high priestess. If she falls, and adopts another faith, does that cause any problems for the kingdom?

Ok, I'll admit that the title made me hope for some fun shenanigans with players falling off of a cliff or out of trees, but this sounds entertaining as well. ;p
As for falling and adopting a new faith causing problems, I'd say the biggest issue there is going to be what the other characters think of it.

I think that if the GM has built in any political or social things into your kingdom you can expect those to explode. Some of the religions you represent may have an issue. There are no mechancical disadvantages that I can see though.
Currently my character has a pretty good relationship with Jhod, since she assumed the position and let him get back to the community. We also have a DMPC Cleric of Iomede who is pretty chill, and if my character gets married, it will probably be by him, since we have more than a working relationship at this point.
I know that the River Kingdoms tends to favor Erastil, so I've been playing slightly towards that, improving things in the community. My leadership feat gave me a few experts and adepts and I trained them to become state sponsored midwives to counteract the EEVIL of Gyronna.
Of course, there's always the option of allowing Jhod to resume his role, which I could do if I was married (darn priests of Erastil and their meddling) but I think that's pretty much the biggest cop out ever.
As for the other characters, to say that we don't get along very well is putting it mildly. They are all for executing people that are inconvenient for them to deal with, which my priestess is not. I've had to restort to her threatening to leave the party to get them to see reason, then the GM threw in his priest of Iomede to mediate. I think the only relationship I care will suffer is the one I have with the fighter, who is rather suspicious of me after I spent a good evening telling him how friendly the villain was, but my group doesn't know what really high charisma means. they see every challenge as a horrible, snarling monster they must hack to little bits. My priestess has saved the fighter from the brink of death almost a dozen times now, and commissioned the bards to write and perform songs in his honor.
But then again, since I drive what little RP there is at the table, maybe I do need to spice things up so people will actually start paying attention.
