Reporting an Event

Scarab Sages 2/5

So, I tried to report an event for the first time and there was an issue that required the admin to contact me. I am going to brainstorm what the issue might have been and you guys can let me know which seems most likely.

Two of the players in this scenario were using unassigned PFS numbers and pregen characters. For these players I did not insert a dash and then character number after the PFS number. They didn't have factions and the names I gave for the characters were their pregen names.(This seems like a potential issue to me now that I think about it. If it wasn't there would be a whole lot of Kyras and Ezrens floating around.)

The third player had a PFS society account but hadn't yet registered his character. He should be doing this shortly so it shouldn't be an issue much longer.

The fourth player, myself(I am reporting this session on behalf of my wife), shouldn't have had any issues.

Maybe the problem is that I am reporting my wife's session while logged into my account.

What do you guys think?

I think that you need to add a -1 after each of the unassigned players' PFS#s and assign them to a Faction. The system is likely balking because the information isn't complete.

Also, give their characters a unique name, or just alter the name a little, like "Ezren of Oppara" or "Valeros the Brash". The system probably won't accept a character name that has already been used.

Remember there are two fields for the number. The first field is for their five digit PFS membership number. This number is always the same. The second field is for their Character number. If this is their first character, it should just be a "1". Their next character will be a "2" and so on.

I didn't have the patience to wait for an admin to contact me so I just tried again. Correcting everything I mentioned helped make it happen. Reporting my wife's session for her wasn't a problem at all, which makes since because event organizers typically report for multiple GMs.

The only issue I can see with this is that if the players who used the pregens want to file the serial numbers off, their choice of name and faction will have been set by you when the session was reported. If they're people you know, I'd contact them just to make sure you didn't screw up their characters' futures.

Tam discussed this in an earlier thread. Some of the players don't want to be saddled with org play registration & character building so Tam is taking care of it for them. They don't care about the details, they just want to play. Tam is simply doing for them what many gamers are doing for their families.

I did call. There was a flurry of phone activity where names were made up and factions were decided upon. Everything seems to be fine now.

Well then it seems you're on top of it. Good work!

A little more research going in would have helped, but everything should be smoother going forward.
