Can someone tell me if Slam attacks from creatures are supposed to have any special side effect, or was this removed from Pathfinder?

Can someone tell me if Slam attacks from creatures are supposed to have any special side effect, or was this removed from Pathfinder?
Slam attacks can have all sorts of special effects. It just depends on the creature.
Some energy drain (wight), and some can cause disease (mummy, certain types of zombie).
But a slam attack by itself does not have any special effects.
As far as I recall, it was the same way in previous editions. Some creatures had special abilities tied to their attacks, slam or otherwise, but most did not.
