Mithral / Adamantine Two-Bladed Longsword

I'm looking at a two-bladed longsword with one blade made of mithral and the other of adamantine. How would you price it before any enchantment raises the price? The mithral price is by the pound, but the adamantine price is a flat rate. Does the price by the pound apply to the weight of the weapon before or after it is converted to mithral (and the weight is halved)? If the weapon weighs 10 lbs, but I'm only putting mithral on one end, am I paying 5000gp for a 10 lb weapon, 2500gp for a 5 lb weapon, or 1250gp for a 2.5 lb weapon? Does the final weight of the weapon become 7.5 lbs? And would the fact that one end of the weapon now weighs half the other's weight, does that make the weapon unwieldy (and unwieldable)?

This is a tricky one and I don't think the rules were originaly meant to create such a thing :-) However in my opinion I would charge 2500gp for 5lbs half the original weight but still reasonable for the fact that you are joining a mithral sword to an adamantine sword. And then remember that the Adamantine cost should be the standard as well. This would be a very special crafting... as I assume both metals have different temperatures and methods of smithing involved.
And of course always remember rule #1 As long as you and your friends are having fun you are not doing anything wrong.

Well, on the top of page 154 in the Core Rules book, it says:

However, you can build a double weapon with each head made of a different special material.

But I can't find anything that says whether prices per lb are determined by the weight with or without the special material.

That sounds right to me. I wouldn't want to pay twice as much for a material that made my weapon heavier, after all.

So I get:
Two-bladed longsword: 100g, 10 lbs
One mithral blade: 500x5 = 2500gp
One adamantite blade: 3000gp
Two +1 heads: 2000x2 = 4000gp
Total: 9600gp

Think I'm over my budget by a few hundred. Gotta see if the GM will float me a loan.

Well, here's a somewhat related post:

Q: When making a mithral weapon(ie a dagger) do you halve the weight before or after you price it by the weight?
A: Use the original weight of the weapon before mithral, not after. You are applying mithral to the original weapon stats. So a dagger would cost 502gp as a dagger weighs 1 pound. [Source]

That's from the pathfinder faq.

So we know the prices are calculated using the original weight of the item.

In the case of a two-bladed sword, we know it weights 10 lbs.

So 5lbs of adamantite

And 5 lbs of mithril:

Mithril would cost 5lbs*500=2500
While the adamantite would cost 3000

Total of 5500.
Plus the cost of the weapon itself 100
With each head as +1, that's a total of 4000g more.

Grand total 9600g.

I also feel like mentioning that characters shouldn't spend more than half their total wealth on any single item.

Pg 400 Core rulebook

And if your dm is using a balanced approach, it might even be as little as 25% of their wealth on weapons.
