I am co-GM to a solo game coming up in which a doppelganger rogue 6/assassin 10 PC is going to attempt to storm a wizard tower (filled with a 15th-level diviner and his 7th-level simulacrums).
The area will be protected by a guards and wards effect. However, neither the GM or I want the wizards to be crippled by the fog (allowing the assassin to sneak about and pick them off one by one). How can we get them to bypass its negative effects while still impeding the intruder?

No easy way. The 9th level spell foresight would help to prevent you being flat footed... but hard to do at 15ht level. The easiest way is to stay out of the corridors or hallways. The fog does not enter rooms.
The people who live in the place know the layout and can walk down the hallways and know where they are going. The intruder usually cannot.
