ok so this is what is going on, i have a party of 2nd level characters and i want to give them each a unique magic item for free.
i am giving one player a book that allows her to communicate over great distances with a person who has the another copy of the book. the way it works is she writes in her book and it shows up in the other book and vis-versa.
my question would be what should i set my cost for the items for the other players?
Characters of level 2 should have 1000 gp worth of GP in equipment
Level 3 characters about 3.000 gp. I suggest you do something like 2000-3000 if its a reward of an adventure thats makes them level 3.
