Halfling Sling Staff's Faster Reload

Rules Questions

A quick question.
Halfling Sling Staff, as PRD reports:
"Loading a halfling sling staff is a move action that requires two hands and provokes attacks of opportunity."

Now, seems like there's no way to reduce reload time to a free action (as per bows and arrows), since the Quick Reload feat can only be applied to crossbows.

So, is there an errata or the like stating that Quick Reload could be applied to slings too (or some other way to reduce the reload time) or did the designers really intended slings to inconditionately suffer a perennial reload time of a move action?

As far as I know, this weapon has always been a slow reload, and considering it is a sling on a stick, it's pretty realistic that it's slow to load. There is no errata or feat for speeding them up to my knowledge.

You are getting a higher damage die over the one you'd get for a standard sling because of leverage... Just because something is exotic, doesn't necessarily mean it's very good though.

It's still pretty useful until level 6 for full BAB, 8 for 3/4 BAB, or 12 for poor BAB. For normal halflings, getting to multiple attacks on a full round isn't an issue IMO which is likely why they use the weapon.

Or it might be that there's a sneaky use for it that *is* good in a particular situation.

You might take a look here. Not conclusive, but I think there's a good argument for allowing quickdraw or rapid reload to substitute.

Alright, as I thought, thanks.
