Electronic Chronicle Sheets?

This may have been asked elsewhere (I did a search, but didn't come up with anything that seemed relevant), but does anyone here organize their chronicle sheets in electronic format?

I was thinking about scanning & storing mine in pdf format (easier that carrying around a bunch of paper). Has anyone else had luck with that?

Also, there is a sample chronicle sheet at the end of the organized play guide. Has anyone created a modifiable version of it? Something that can be filled/stored electronically and then printed out if needed?

Is that even legal? Josh? Anyone?

I am pretty sure that at this time you have to have a hard copy of everything related to your character. You need an official character sheet, all of your original chronicle sheets (no copies), and for any of the official additional resources as listed in the back of the Guide that you are using, you must have either the actual book or a printout of the pages from that book.

I should clarify that 99% of my Organized Play experience has and will be done in home games. I have about 20 players in my immediate area (plus the occasional children & spouses) that I play with on a regular basis. We all know each other and, in most cases, have gamed together for over a decade.

Since we all have other obligations, running a traditional campaign is difficult. We have found that the Pathfinder Society style of short adventures with a drop in/drop out cast and rotating DM works very well for us and has increased the amount of "getting together to play" we accomplish in a month (we've been remarkably consistent so far, but I doubt it will last through finals). Only a couple of us have any interest in ever going to a convention (I'm planning to attend the next PaizoCon but probably nothing before that) where presenting chronicle sheets and the like would be necessary.

We built our characters, play the adventures, and report the results according to Pathfinder Society rules. We even play additional adventures (side quests/set piece encounters/etc) with our characters (for no experience or gold, obviously) if the mood strikes us. It's just that, for us, everyone having a hard copy or specific version of a character sheet isn't important. Everyone knows who went on what adventure, and none of us care Bob sits down at table with a piece of paper or his laptop.

After an adventure, the DM that day fills out an official chronicle sheet for whomever wants one. Otherwise, we keep a detailed record from the adventure (everything and more than is listed on a chronicle sheet, actually) on a centralized spreadsheet so we can recreate a lost character or chronicle sheet later down the line if needed.

If one of us shows up to a convention, we will certainly bring all the official documents. I'm just looking for an alternative to our spreadsheet method. I think a modifiable, electronic chronicle sheet would be ideal.

What I would like to see is that the reporting system be brought up to speed. The only real reason it could not be used as an authoritative source to instantiate legal Chronicle sheets would be slow/no reporting by GMs.

How so?

When events are reported, the items and gold which are 'standard' for the module should be the base line. You can line item remove stuff that wasn't found, and adjust gold as needed. Items bought/sold/conditions etc is a little trickier. I'm probably shifting the work and responsibility of this from the player (where it really belongs) to the GM (who probably doesn't need to pick up more of either).

I guess more ideal solution would be something like:

1 - Game is played at table, chronicles are filled out as normal.
2 - GM reports session, as normal.
3 - Player can then go to session and 'store' an authorized chronicle (modifications of the base as needed, including day job, bought/sold etc).
4 - Chronicle is approved (2nd time) by the reporting GM.
5 - Chronicle is now authorized duplicate source in case of loss, damage or destruction.

Something like that anyway :)
