Swallowed Whole


Rules Questions


Once you have been swallowed to you keep the grappled conditioned? My felling is yes you do but I couldnt find any RAW to support that opinion.

A swallowed creature keeps the grappled condition, while the creature that did the swallowing does not. Not only are you considered grappled, you also have to deal with total concealment in many cases (unless you were swallowed with a light source or have darkvision).

I never considered the concealment thing, but it does make sense. It makes being swallowed more of a threat than simply cutting your way back out.


Would you keep the grappled condition when you make the initial CMB/Escape Artist check to escape back into the creature's mouth?
