I'd love to believe that human beings have that kind of potential. However, like the other people on the messageboards for that sight, I think some really rigorous testing is needed before any actual claims can be verified.
That said, if eating and drinking are not necessary, then neither is breathing and, well the rest of the human body, if you follow the theory to its inevitable conclusion.
But again, that's only if they can prove he isn't cheating in some way.

While I feel that it has been proven in the past that remarkable individuals may in fact surpass what is currently deemed plausible, I also feel that claims, and any claims of this nature should be tested. If it is possible to do so for long periods of time then it is something that should be presented as possible options for many things. Medical research and well world food problems.

If he was in the hospital for observation, I wonder if they took blood samples? I'd like to know what his blood sugars were doing during those days.
Like many others, I suspect gimmickry. Although I think he may have topped David Blaine for Most Tedious Magic Trick.
