Tosk Saladin |

Tosk glances at the man, seeing if he recognizes him as Lamm.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
If it is Lamm:
"You may not remember us, monster, but we remember you."
If not:

DM Sully |

The few of the party who have had the misfortune of meeting Lamm face to face instantly recognize that this man is not Gaedren.
As Kovellus reaches and grabs the man, he shrieks loudly. "Help! Help! Thieves! Murderers!"
I need Initiative rolls from everyone. If I get the ok from Lily and Tosk, I will start rolling them and posting them for everyone.

DM Sully |

Initiative (from now on I'll roll them for us all)
Andrezi - 15
Lily - 13
Tosk - 12
Cardon - 11
Emyralda - 9
Kovellus - 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Bad guys? - 2
The room beyond is about fifteen feet wide and twenty feet deep. Two doors in the far wall lead further in the fishery. There is also a single door in the wall to the left and the wall to the right. Inside the front door a single desk sits in the middle of the room, a moldy chair pushed up against the far side and a small pile of ratty furs and straw is heaped underneath. Two large mastiffs lie sleeping on the makeshift pallet underneath the worn table.
At the man's shrill scream the two dogs spring awake and begin growling and snarling while gnashing their teeth at the party.
Ok, I need actions from everyone, but let's start with Andrezi, Lily, and Tosk. Currently, Kovellus has the man in a grapple, and a few passers-by are giving the obviously armed group odd looks.

Andrezi Zeldana |

Andrezi mutters, "So much for subtlety..."
Andrezi will move up use his whip to trip one of the dogs when they get up to after a party member[ooc]
[ooc]Trip (with Whip):1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 vs. CMD of a big dawg.

Kovellus Vossare |

Andrezi mutters, "So much for subtlety..."
Sorry, not Kovellus' strong suit.
Kovellus attempts to pin the man and keep him restrained.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 CMB check to pin.
Sorry, didn't see the part where I still had him grappled initially. As the man hasn't tried to break out I added the appropriate bonus to this CMB check. My pinning includes forcing an arm over the man's mouth, muffling his speech.

Lily D'Amico |

Lily clenches her jaw firmly and shakes her head. She does not have a shot on the dogs, with Kovellus pinning the man in the doorway. She is saddened by the need to shoot the dogs at all, as they are merely serving their purpose in the city's ecosystem, but she sees that they are clearly too aggressive to approach.
(free action) "Kovellus, inside, please!"
Lily will delay her turn. If the doorway becomes clear, she will move inside the room (to the side of the door) and loose an arrow at one of the dogs.
Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Edit: Oh man! Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Oh well, so close.

(free action) "Kovellus, inside, please!"
(free action) Grunts of exertion
Using my action to pin and silence the man, I don't have enough actions left for a CMB check to move the man inside. Next turn it was my intention to do so.

Emyralda |

Emyralda keeps her eyes on the dogs, fearing they may leap to attack her new companions.
Emyralda holds her action - if the dogs attack, she will cast Flare on one of them. Dazzles the affected creature, making it -1 to attack. Fort DC 15 to negate.
By the way, here's an attempt at a Rough Map.

DM Sully |

Thanks for the map, Max! If it were just a normal combat round I'd go ahead and act for Tosk, but since this is the first time in action, I'm going to let him specifically take his action. I know he spoke tell the half-orc to put the man down, but I'm making sure there isn't anything else he's planning on doing before the round continues. Sorry for the lack of speed, but until I'm comfortable with how you all act in character and in combat I'm hesitant to step on any toes.

Lily D'Amico |

I know. In my tabletop game, with people I am familiar with, I'd have just bull rushed the guard while you were grappling him and saved you the trouble. With someone I don't know, I'm going to not do that. Besides, who can guess what mechanics would be involved with bull rushing a person who is being grappled by another person? What a nightmare.
It's just roleplaying Lily's desire to not get hauled off to jail by the town guard, that's all :)
Sully, if we're using that map (which is great, by the way), I'll need to adapt my action to simply move inside the door and change over to my Greatsword (need Quick Draw!!) rather than attacking. If the dogs are in a position to attack right away, I wouldn't be firing a ranged weapon. I pictured the room as bigger than it was, I suppose. If you'll allow that.

No problem!

Tosk Saladin |

If you feel my posting is too slow in the future, please do not hesitate to do as you feel Tosk would, Sully. He'll develop some flavor as we go, so I think you'll have an idea.
Tosk enters the building, drawing his sword and approaching the dogs, though not within range of a swipe. While he had no fear of the animals, there were others worse-equipped to fend off a bite.
Tosk readies his attack against any dog which approaches. He would be 10 feet or so away from them (if possible inside), though inside the room in any case.

Kovellus Vossare |

I'll need to adapt my action to simply move inside the door and change over to my Greatsword (need Quick Draw!!) rather than attacking.
You have BAB+1, which lets you combine those two actions with a standard action remaining if you wish. And no worries on the RP side of it, that's why Kovellus is silencing him lol.

Lily D'Amico |

Sorry about all the OOC talk, everyone. "Sheathing" my bow = move equivalent action (per pg. 183, Core Rules), actually moving inside the building and drawing my Greatsword while doing so = standard action converted to a move, no actions left. If I could just drop my Bow, I'd be fine, but I paid too much for it to just drop it on the street! :D

New Initiative:
Andrezi - 15
Lily - 13
Tosk - 12
Cardon - 11
Kovellus - 3+
Emyralda - 3
Bad guys? - 2
Andrezi steps past Kovellus, who has the weaselly looking man pinned up against the wall. Andrezi moves to L10, and I have Kov at N11, sharing the space with the man. His whip whistles through the air, but the dog is nimbler than it looks, shaking off the trip attempt easily.
Lily steps past Kovellus, urging him to bring the conflict out of the street while stowing her bow and drawing her greatsword. She ends in N10. Meanwhile, the heavily-armored half-orc steps in the room, unslinging his weapon and positioning himself as best he can. I'm guessing N9 since the dog isn't really in that square.
Cardon quickly addresses a small crowd of passers-by, and after his brief words most of them shrug and move on. Good thinking, Cardon! And nice roll.
Kovellus continues pinning the man against the wall, muffling his cries with his forearm and pressing so hard the mans nose begins to bleed as he struggles and moans. Suddenly, the snarling dogs attack, and quick as Andrezi's whip Emyralda speaks an arcane syllable, causing a quick burst of light to fly from her hand and strike the dog advancing on the Varisian man. The slavering beast yelps in surprise. The poor pup did not make the save.
Both dog snap their jaws at Andrezi and Tosk, but neither connect (they are at L9 and M9). The man continues to struggle, but makes no headway against Kovellus's tight grip.
Again, due to the complexity of the fight and how quickly things may change, I'll try to take actions based on the initiative count. People's actions may change based on other party members, so retconning is no problem. Things pretty much don't happen until I post a summary, if that's ok with everyone. Back to Andrezi! Also, please state your coordinate position when you end your turn, and if I put you somewhere you don't want to be, let me know where to put you.

Cardon Quid |

Round 2...

Andrezi Zeldana |

Sully, I'll be out for a while this evening (about 3 hours), if you need to move along, take my actions for me.

Kovellus Vossare |

Round 2... ** spoiler omitted **
Heh, i'd love that spell on me sometime in the future, being even stronger than Tosk :D.
Round Two Action
Kovellus maintains his grip on the man, and drags him inside as directed.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 CMB Grapple Check
As he drags the man inside, steering clear of the dogs he mutters-
Can someone tie this man up? His struggling is irritating!

Andrezi Zeldana |

Ok so it was more like two hours...
Andrezi will attempt to keep the dogs at bay, lashing out with his whip and trying to coil the whip around the neck of the first one that tries to attackUsing the Prehensile Whip trait
Attack:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 I'm guessing this attack would target CMD as opposed to AC
Damage: N/A, Just restraining the dog.

Lily D'Amico |

Lily grits her teeth, rears back, and takes a wild overhead swing at the canine nearest her. "I'm sorry," she whispers solemnly.
Greatsword Power Attack on the dog in M9: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Wow, that luck's going to run out soon, I'm sure. Roll to confirm crit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. Right, I crit but can't confirm!
Damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 4) + 7 = 12
Still recovering from her attack on the beast, she reaches into her pack, pulling out a length of hemp rope. This provokes an AoO from the dog, if he's still alive.

Tosk Saladin |

At the attempted bites from the dogs, Tosk saw they would have to be stopped - though hopefully not killed.
Longsword attack on dog at M9 in posted map: 1d20 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 3 = 13, 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 damage
Glad the suggestion has been made to tie up the man, Tosk is very anxious to see what information he has to give on Lamm's whereabouts.

Glad the suggestion has been made to tie up the man, Tosk is very anxious to see what information he has to give on Lamm's whereabouts.
As you are now a large creature, your attack rolls and AC are at a -1 penalty, your strength rises by 2 to 18 (cancelling out your attack roll penalty), and your Dex drops by 2. Your weapon's damage die also increases (to 2d6 I believe on a d8 Longsword.
Net Changes-
Attack Rolls= Same
AC= -2 lower
Reflex Save= -1 lower
CMB= +2 higher
CMD= +1 net gain
Weapon Damage= 2d6+4 one-handed, or 2d6+6 two handed (Longsword)
Hope it helps :)

DM Sully |

Andrezi's whip wraps around the dog's neck, causing the beast to snarl with fury.
Lily's blow nearly takes the head off the other canine, cutting off its yelp of pain. Tosk, his target eliminated, takes several long strides towards the other animal, putting it down with quick efficiency.
Cardon's go, and Emyralda can do something different if she wishes to change her action. Save the man grapples by Kovellus, there are no other targets presenting themselves.

Lily D'Amico |

Round Three Action
Lily securely binds the man, and stuffs an empty Sack in his mouth to keep him quiet. I'm sure this would actually take a wee bit longer than 6 seconds, so, however long it takes.
Seeing Cardon's efforts to save the dog, Lily flings her arms around him."Thank you, oh thank you!" she cries. She moves to inspect the creature, running her fingers through it's fur. Is it being properly fed and cared for?

Cardon Quid |

While she's tying the man up, Cardon will use another stabalize on the other dog. (if rounds are over, he'll then move to inspect any wounds the party sustained)

Andrezi Zeldana |

Seeing that his companions have matters well in hand, Andrezi will begin searching the room for other exits or any other useful information.
Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

DM Sully |

We are out of "round" action. Feel free to post whenever until combat breaks out again.
The man whimpers and moans as he struggles against his bonds. After a futile attempt that lasts a few moments, he stops struggling and looks at the party with mad, wide eyes.
Other than the front door, there are four other exits from this room, two doors opposite the front and one on each of the side walls. The map is great, if you want to continue expanding on it. The doors themselves are on L6, M6, L7, and N6.
Both dogs are still unconscious, but they are in no immediate danger of death. On their rough leather collars each bears an iron tag that read "Bloo" and "Kloo." After rifling through the man's belongings the group finds a pocked and pitted metal rod, three vials of acid, two tanglefoot bags, and a thunderstone, as well as a dagger, a light crossbow with 10 bolts, a garnet amulet, and a small bronze key.
The smell of fish and offal permeates the air, nearly overpowering everyone's senses but stopping just short of unbearable. After a thorough exploration of the room, the group finds nothing else of interest.
That's 150xp for everyone for gaining entrance to the old fishery and dealing with it's initial guardians! Where to now, O Vengeance Seekers?

Andrezi Zeldana |

Starting with the door at N6, Andrezi will listen at each door or look inside if it is an open doorway just to get a better "lay of the land"
N6 Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
M6 Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
L6 Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
L7 Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
EDIT: 3 out of 4 isn't too bad I guess...

Tosk Saladin |

Tosk notes the findings in the room, then approaches the man, stooping down to eye level with him. His voice is stern, but not angry as he watches for the reaction of the captive. Tosk waits after each bit of speech to judge the man's body movements or muffled utterances.
"Forgive the break in, but we are looking for Lamm. He is an evil man who must have justice for his crimes. Do you work for him?"
"Do you know where he is?"
"Are these your dogs?"
"Are they his?"
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Emyralda |

While the others bind and question the man, see to the dogs, and inspect the other doors, Emyralda casts Detect Magic as she examines the man's possessions.
"Anyone know what this might be?" she asks, holding up the pocked and pitted metal rod.
Depending on what Andrezi detects with his perception checks, shall we try the door at L7 first, and then work our way around?

DM Sully |

The Varisian goes from door to door, pressing his ear to the weathered, stinking wood to hear what lies behind them.
All for Andrezi:
L7 -
L6 -
M6 -
N6 -

The metal rod radiates mild evocation magic.

Andrezi Zeldana |

Pointing to the door L7, "There are sounds of childrens' voices, and a gruff deeper voice coming from beyond that passage. Also there is some sort of wet, squishing sound. I can't make out what anyone is saying though. Beyond that, it smells even fishier over there, if that's possible."
