danskmacabre wrote:September 2010Hi, I've been looking for the Pathfinder chronicles campaign setting.
However it's out of stock everywhere. Is there a date for a reprint or something?
It is a different book though, the original will not be reprinted.

Of course, if you're willing to order the current campaign setting book online, then paizo.com has it right here.
If you want it cheaper, The Dragon's Trove has it for $37.49 here.
(I've never ordered from The Dragon's Trove, so I can't personally vouch for it. But it sure has some good prices!)

As others have said, the Campaign Setting is available still in pdf form, or the Gazetteer is available as a sort of lightweight option.
With regard to the September release date for the revised setting, keep in mind that:
1) Paizo sometimes lag in their release schedules in the months immediately after GenCon, as they try to catch up from having to send many of their staff to the US event where they *have* to maintain a presence (and releases) if they want to remain a force in the US game market.
2) Even without Icelandic volcanoes complicating international shipping with ash clouds, it takes some time for things to transit across the Atlantic and arrive in the UK.
Those things said, welcome to the Paizo boards, and will we be seeing you at PaizoCon UK this year?

Thanks for the info, I'm in the UK, so I've been looking at UK suppliers, which seem to be out of stock, but I suppose I could order from the US and hope I don't get hit with Import duty.
While I don't know squat about ordering in the UK, I just looked at amazon.co.uk, and found the campaign setting for £28.49, here.
Does anyone reading this thread know anything about amazon.co.uk? Is it a good way to order books?
(And by the way, danskmacabre, that's a nice name. Why do you call yourself that?)

Yeah I've seen the amazon site for it, but it's out of stock unfortunately.
But amazon are quite reliable, I get lots of stuff from them.

My wife is Danish and I lived in Denmark for some years, Like Bens said, it's a play on words of the dans macabre musical piece (which I quite like) and my family's Danish origins.

I'll check out the Wiki and see if I can get by with that, if not I'll buy the PDF version, although I prefer to have a hardcopy so I can pick it up and read it whenever I want but I can get by with the PDF version and my laptop during gaming sessions.
Regarding Paizocon, if I'm not working that weekend I might like to go to that, I haven't been to a gaming convention for a long time.
Thanks for all the info everyone :)

I must have been tired last night, not to notice that. Sorry.

Do you mean the musical piece by Camille Saint-Saëns? If so, I love that piece myself. Fascinating stuff! If you have the time and inclination, maybe you could check out the classical music thread on this site.

If you look at the CSII page of the wiki, that will tell you how many of the Campaign Setting sections have been completely covered. The ones not crossed off may have been started, but not completed yet (most have 2-3 articles from that section done, but not all of them).

Yes that's the one.
Yeah I love classical music, I grew up with it when my mother used to clean the house listening to it when I was just a little boy, a Loooong time ago :DI'll take a gander at that musical thread later :)

OK cool, thanks, very useful :)

Keep in mind that Paizo had to put together the Campaign Setting in about a year, after they were bounced into setting up their own lines and world by events beyond their own control, and that some of the details in the first edition Campaign Setting are due to be revised in the next (bigger) version.
The biggest (non-typo) revision James Jacobs has mentioned on the boards/in Tuesday night chats which currently comes to my mind is that Alkenstar is currently slated to become a much younger country, to cut back on how long they've had to develop technology. Smaller scale scheduled tweaks include things like the removal of the Slohr (a Ghostbusters easter egg which made it past the editors) from the timeline.
You might find the reference/errata thread in the Chronicles for for the Campaign Setting handy if you haven't seen it already: *Link*

Thanks for the link, first time I've ever seen that page.
If and when I get the time, I'll revisit the articles I did on some of the Garund nations, double check they are complete and sign off on a few.

Good reason to move back to Denmark then! It's been at least a year since the Danish customs gorillas caught one of my Paizo packages. :-D
