Can a vrock take a 5-foot step while doing his 3 rounds of dancing, or is dancing consider a move type action? We had a DM "dance down the hall" after the party, get them in LoS, and then activate the burst. I think this is legal, since it says you can take a 5-foot step as long as your fullround action doesn't involve movement, but dancing is moving, so...

You have to put on your 'rules hat' when interpreting it. A full attack is 'moving' too - you're moving your arm to wield your weapon. But that's not the kind of movement that the 5-foot-step is talking about.
The vrock's dance is not a move in the rules term - it doesn't change it's location any more than a fighter doing a full attack changes location, so I'd allow a 5-foot step each round.

Dance of Ruin (Su) A vrock can dance and chant as a full-round action—at the end of 3 rounds, a crackling wave of energy explodes from the vrock, dealing 5d6 points of electricity damage to all creatures within 100 feet.
Is the dance a full round action and the effect arrive 3 rounds later or is it a 3 full rounds action? If it's the later, 3 full rounds for a 5d6 effect it's pretty lame for a CR9
