(I think I should have start a new thread, so here it is)
Just like Rob did, I decided to make an excel sheet to manage our kingdom. there are 2 sheets. One with the kingdom (very similar to the one in the book) and one with the first city and 3 districts.
both are fully automated for bonus/malus coming from edicts, leaderships and buildings.
only the yellow cells need to be filled-in and voilà!

pic 2 part of the city sheet
comments are welcomed !
As far as I can read in this forum, it seems that building's effect on the Unrest is one shoot. this needs to be fixed.

When I open the sheet I get the following error:
Microsoft Office Excel wrote:The workbook contains one or more links that cannot be updated. When I click on Edit Links... it says that the source is mesmacros.xlam. Any idea what this is?
My mistake. I made a personal formula to analyse text and I forgot to remove it.
edit----
the file has been modified
can you check it again ?

Here It is !
the 1.3 version.
what new :
problem of macros should be fixed.
minor changes has been done
It also manages up to 10 cities of 20 districts (you simply need to duplicate the "city (1)" sheet )
name your city and you can put it on the map
I zipped it to avoid problem with xlsx and internet explorer

This version seems to already have a Arena, Castle and Cathedral!

strange ! check in the option if the formula calculation is set to automatic.
hold on...
the sheet check the leadership vavancy by the name of the ruler. so you need to put a name for all the leader. No treasurer -> no taxes and so on...
when the leadership role is red, that means if gives penalties.
for the example, here is a filed-in file: lostlands with 1 city
lostlands

I'm working off of the 1.7 sheet. Trying to figure out how to add the bonuses for settling the Stag Lord hex (+1 Stab, Econ, Loyalty). Should I just add a negative 1 to the penalties boxes or is there a way to do this that I am missing completely?
EDIT: Also noticed that the sizes of the caster's tower and castle got mixed up on the city sheet.

hello ! I didn't know for the stag lord hex. (I'm a palyer so I didn't read the quests)...
so you can, indeed, use a negative "other penalties" and the sum will be ok.
for the mix of size, quite strange. simply unlock the sheet and change the data (there is no password on it)
I will modify this for a 1.8 version (still the link will be unchanged)

Hey r-Kelleg, first let me thank you on making my groups gaming session so much easier now. Your spreadsheet has made it easy to keep track of all the info and access it very quickly.
Now for my issue...
Im currently using your Kingmaker 1.7 on Open Office, as its free and microsoft isnt. Im coming up with a few issues I was hoping you could help me with. Im getting hash marks (#) in some areas and not sure why.

r-Kelleg- really disappointed. it worked the 1st time now it wont work at all. re downloaded it and still the same. the totals will not total up. It's a shame too cause out of all the Excel kingdom trackers i liked your format the best it was so pretty :( guess i will have to to use a different one :(

My group just used this sheet tonight and things are not updating for me (Leadership bonuses and edict bonuses specifically). FYI, I'm using version 1.7 and running on OpenOffice rather than Excel. Any suggestions of changing the sheet for OpenOffice?

Man you really revived a dead thread. i can't remember if R-kelleg scrapped that program or he just disappeared. I remember a different excel program was written and it went through multiple people and versions. I reached a climax with it and and finally got my version finalized. And it's been running with my players with no issues for 8 months. My version was for OpenOffice.org however as i did not have access to excel. i have it hosted on a sight somewhere... I'm not sure if anyone ever converted mine back to excel or if others versions got finalized or not. Once i reached the point where all the kingdom planning had a page and formulated, got the selectable drop-down kingdom leader option finalized, repaired all the building code errors and expanded city builders up to 10 cities, got the mass army sheets implemented and coded, added in 10 city grid maps that allowed building tiles to be placed on the city map, and then smoothed out all the sheets and into full color video gamey style, i was finally happy with it and have been running my campaign all this time.
You should be able to find multiple versions if you can locate the thread. i think the thread reached into the hundreds of posts, it can't be too hard to find. If you can't find any active host sites to download it from, and you don't mind installing openoffice for free, i can see if my host site is still alive or E-mail you my finalized version...

as for the 1.7 Excel macro i'm pretty sure it died. Wasn't that the program that had a kingdom map that actually was integrated into the kingdom building code? If that's the one im thinking of i'm sure it died. so you will have no way of expanding your kingdom map into Varnhold and the other kingdoms so the code will have to be completely rewritten. That format and program style was scrapped. Berhagen wrote a completely different program. i much prefer the new format. There is no kingdom map integrated into the kingdombuilder. Player's use a printout map for reference and just record there terrain type and number of hexes and the code keys off that.
