I am thinking of running a home campaign based in Tien Xia and using the Judge Dee Murder mystery books as a template. Basically I am thinking of making the PCs Judge Dee’s lieutenants, so that they go from city to city as the judge gets posted here and there, and they help him with everything from murder investigations, to political intrigue, to monster disposal, and maybe even some exploration of ruins etc. I know that in the books, there is only the occasional hint of the supernatural, but with this campaign, I plan to incorporate the average level of magic in a pathfinder game. That is my basic idea.
Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?
What class would you think Judge Dee might be pathfinder class wise? Do you think judge Dee might be an aristocrat? An inquisitor of Abadar? Something else?
What about the lieutenant in the book? Ma Jong, Chao Tai, Tao Gan and Sergeant Hong? What classes do you think they might be?
Thanks

Thank you Thelesuit, ill have to look up the snake agent.
Zarzulan, what pathfinder classes or mulit class combination do you think would best describe Judge Dee, and his Lieutanants Ma Joong, Chao Tai, Tao gan and Sergent Hong?
I would be assuming the prevalence of magic that we find in the pathfinder series.

I am tooting my own horn here, but you might want to take a look at Heroes of the Jade Oath, published by Rite Publishing and sold here at the Paizo store. It is designed for use with Monte Cook's Arcana Evolved and 3.5, but would be easy to convert to Pathfinder. It has new classes, variant monks, new races and other goodies. New classes include the Enlightened Scholar and the Demon Hunter, which would make good classes for some of those characters you are concerned about.
