Xp and gold updated.
Max gold for paladin is 300 gp (5d6x10). When you craft, you pay 1/3 cost in raw materials. Since the half-plate alone is 200 gp if you crafted it (normal price is 600), how can you have 102 gp left? Also, I'd think you'd need a waterskin at least in equpment. Thanks.

How can I have 102gp left? Because apparently I cannot properly use a calculator, that's how. :) I fixed my sheet and added a few adventuring items like a backpack, shaving kit, waterskin, etc.
Do we have a goal date to start up?

Updated and added the extra (starting with max) gold after buying one antitoxin.

Done. Ready for inspection, Sar!
Just in case we go live later tonight, I work Monday evenings so I doubt I'll be able to post much after about 4pm UK time. He isn't a big talker anyway.
Cheers
Looks good, Zennor. I just changed his mount to a pony, if that's ok. A dwarf on a horse seems odd.
One masterwork bolt with no crossbow? I have a feeling there is a story there somewhere.

Yeah, I checked the Rulebook and it said dwarves ride horses not ponies. I am happy either way.

Thanks for the invite, DL. I hope Ari won't disappoint. Unfortunately I'm in a new work area at my job here at O'Hare. I'm currently working in the outbound bagroom for American Airlines. Said bagroom is underground beneath 3' of concrete and steel so, sad to say, my wireless card wont work there so i'll be limited in my postings during the day (basically when I get a chance to poke my head out to see if the sun is still shining). Otherwise i'm good to post first thing in the morning and in the evening after my daughter as gone to bed.
I'll finish up with the gear and bio this afternoon/evening and jump in then.
Thanks again and good luck all.

Virgil/DM - my intention is for Zennor to learn to craft siege type weapons which would fit with his character and the God of Strategy and Protection pretty well.
However thinking ultra long term, could we twist the rules and let Virgil and Zennor combine to make a +1 holy sword?
Cheers
P.S. Good to have you on board Arianna.
| Tanner Nielsen |
Zennor/DM - Since Virgil would not have the spellcasting abilities necessary to enchant weapons (I'm thinking of taking a non-spellcasting PrC), I was think that both Zennor and Virgil could make arms and armor, but Zennor would do all of the enchanting.
Under the description of crafting magic items, it is not necessary for the spellcaster to have made the item himself. It only says that, "The weapon, armor, or shield to be enhanced must be a masterwork item that you provide." So we could have Virgil toiling away at the anvil while Zennor prays and chants to enchant the items and double-team party weapon and armor creation. Thoughts?

As long as you take the craft magic arms and armor feat and have the requisite spells, I don't see a problem with it, and as Virgil said, he could make them, and the person with the feat could enchant them.

Gear is all selected and it looks like i'm good to go. Could someone double check my "sheet" to see if i've messed up somewhere. Two heads (or more) are better than one.
CMD is 14, not 15 (+1 Str, +3 Dex). I am assuming you took rogue as favored class and took +1 hp at 1st level. If so, indicate that in profile. Also, you should put the combat stats for just a strike with the short sword. Other than that, looks good.
| Vanulf Wulfson |
Don't forget about the Dodge feat. Unless I'm mistaken it should also add to the CMD.
A creature can also add any circumstance,
deflection, dodge, insight, morale, profane, and sacred
bonuses to AC to its CMD. Any penalties to a creature’s
AC also apply to its CMD.
I'll make a note of the Favored class somewhere in there.
Thanks

Death-Lok, a couple character mechanics questions: How do you feel about the Bladesinger and Arcane Archer PrCs? Can Sil's perform(dance) skill cover juggling too or must I take sleight of hand?
I know the Arcane Archer PrC (that's fine) but can you give me the source that you were thinking of for the Bladesinger. There were so many 3.5 versions of it.
I have no problem with the Perform skill covering the juggling.

I had already selected 5pm as the time when Zennor prays to Torag. He did it over a pile of catapult bits. The time I selected reflects when he would have either just finished a shift in the mine or just be about to start.
All my other clerics picked dawn so I fancied something more problematic and the rules say I just pick a time to pray every day.
The day's spells are chosen but I have left one slot blank until I decide what to do with it nearer the time.

Hey guys, I feel awful, but I'm going to let this game go. I feel bad for the 3 new players (Virgil, Zennor, and Arianna) and Sil who have brought new enthusiasm to the game, but it's just common decency, IMO, that if you can't post 1 or 2 or more days, you let me know, as DM. Players instead disappear for days without word. I believe Cale and especially Garyn are gone now, so it just leaves Sil from the original group. Sure, I could replace the missing players, but that just kills the vibe of the game. Again, I apologize and if my shortcomings as DM were responsible for the lack of posting, I take full responsibility. Now I understand why these PbPs don't last, it's hard to find the right mix of DM and dedicated players.

DL,
It's no fault of your own. Sometimes RL has a way of rearing it's ugly head at unexpected times. That being said I think you're a little premature in pulling the trigger on this game. Have you any way to contact the errant players? The final decision is yours, but I would try and give them until the end of the week to respond.
If you do decide to kill this game and run another I would be honored if you would consider letting myself and the others still around have a shot at playing with you again.
Thanks,
V

Death-Lok, I'm sorry to see the game go. I second Vanulf in all particulars, especially that RL can interrupt one or even a few players for a day or two occasionally. I'd like to protest that you have not been deficient in any way running the game. I have quite enjoyed playing with you. In the end it's your call; I'll support that decision.

My 2 pence worth...
The first Kingmaker game that Vanulf and I joined was destined to fail. We tried to keep things going but there were just too many issues and eventually the game fell apart. The DM wasn't experienced enough.
Death-Lok, I'd like to give you a bit of time before the game is ended not least because I am sure you are the right DM and you are running a good game. Its not your fault that one or two of the players have shown a lack of courtesy. This happens. I haven't played in a game in which this doesn't. In fact TT will tell you that I blew up one character when his player started behaving badly, I lost two more without a word but in the end the Splintered Isles had a terrific bunch of players.
Looking at it with a touch of positivity, TT and I run two games each so we aren't going anywhere and TT is one of the most supportive players a DM could ask for. Vanulf made a very courageous plea to join a Kingmaker game so I doubt if he will be leaving us too.
Tanner has just started a game too so I doubt he is going anywhere fast. But if he does then the time to find out is now. Its much easier to bring in replacements at the beginning. You handled the Goblin Snake problem well.
My advice is that you give the players a few days to respond like you did with Goblin Snake and then use us and our extensive contacts to find replacements that are trustworthy. Dabbler, for instance, is very dedicated and since you are working so hard for us, don't you deserve to cherry pick players? I think you do.
One last point which may be way off base but here goes, don't take poor players personally. Its your game and this is just teething troubles, in the end you will get a decent group until then the ones that fall by the wayside, f! em. They are the ones missing out. Harsh but ultimately fair.
Cheers
P.S. I wouldn't spend my time on this if I didn't think your game isn't worth it.

Death-Lok hasn't posted on these boards at all since he stopped the game on Wednesday. While I hope it is not the case, I fear he has departed forever.
I will continue to peek in here for the next week or so, hoping he starts up again.
Death-Lok, if you do come back. I won't be able to post in game until Monday.

Hi fellas, some of you know me so hope you don't mind my meddling.
You have a full team of willing players, I'm thinking you should try for a DM in the recruitment thread rather than let it die.
I'd step into the role myself (and was sorely tempted) but really can't do the time it requires. I'd end up flaking part way through my teaching term and having done that already to some of you it would be unfair.
I'm sure someone would give it a go though. It happened for a dead and buried LoF campaign I used to be in and it's going strong now for those who remained.
sorry for the interrupt
Cheers
