I'm working on an NPC with 9th level Summoner levels and need help building his Eidolon. The Eidolon in question is based on the Kyton from the Bestiary. What would be the best way to go about building it? I'm already thinking of giving it tentacles to simulate the kyton's chain attacks, but are there any other evolutions that I'm not looking at that could be used to make this eidolon work? I'm also not using the Final Playtest version of the summoner (done to simulate the fact that the summoner's eidolon is slightly more powerful than a "normal" [final playtest] eidolon). Not sure if that will make a difference with suggestions but figured it couldn't hurt if you knew. Thanking you in advance for the help.

I'd just give it the exotic weapon proficiency (spiked chain) feat and a 3/day Animate Rope spell-like ability. (I'd consider chains to be a "rope-like object").
If you go with tentacles, just remember that they're secondary attacks.
What I'm going for is a build that is fairly close to a standard kyton as possible. Doesn't have to be exact, though. I like the spell-like ability and will probably use it, as it is very similiar to what a standard kyton can do.
Let me explain a little more.
The summoner in question is making use of the devil-bound template - chain devil from the Advanced Bestiary and the eidolon that he summons is the ultimate expression of the bond shared between kyton and summoner. I know that kytons are no longer considered devils but are a diabolical race unto themselves now but this template works best for what I want to do. The contract that binds them works to both parties advantage - the summoner gains the abilities of template and the kyton can be called into the world to bring pain and suffering to others. But the kyton didn't come away totally unchanged by this contract.
This is what I'm going for. A "not quite exact" build of the kyton. This is what I have so far:
Tykon the Unfettered* (lvl 9 summoner's eidolon)
NE Medium outsider (biped eidolon)
Init +6; Senses Darkvision 60 ft., scent; Perception +10
AC 20, touch 12, flat-footed 18 (+2 Dex, +8 natural)
hp 99 (7d10+50)
Fort +7, Ref +4, Will +6 (+4 against enchantment)
Defensive Abilities evasion
Speed 30 ft.
Melee 2 claws +11 and 3 tentacles +9
Special Atk.
Str 16, Dex 14, Con 13, Int 7, Wis 10, Cha 11
Base Atk. +8; CMB +11; CMD 22
Feats Improved Initiative, Skill Focus (Perception), Toughness,
Skills Acrobatics +11, Perception +10, Stealth +7, Swim +13
SQ devotion, link, share spells
Evolutions claws, limbs (arms), limbs (legs); scent (1 pt.), tentacles (3 pts.)
* I apologize for the cheesy name but it's what the summoner calls the eidolon.

I went back and reworked the eidolon. I'm still considering the animate rope spell-like ability, so this is by no means final. Any comments would be appreciated. Please bear in mind that I'm using the earlier playtest version of the summoner and not the final version.

Grab (Ex): Tykon is adept at grappling foes, gaining the grab ability. Whenever the eidolon makes a successful attack with one of her tentacles, she can attempt a free combat maneuver check. If successful, Tykon grapples the target. This ability only works on creatures of a size one category smaller than Tykon or smaller.
Pull (Ex): Tykon has the ability to pull creatures closer with a successful attacjk Whenever Tykon makes a successful attack with her tentacles, she can attempt a free combat maneuver check. If successful, the target of the attack is pulled 5 feet closer to the eidolon. This ability only works on creatures of a size equal to or smaller than Tykon.
Tykon is an eidolon that resembles a fiend known as the kyton (see Pathfinder Bestiary pg. 185).
