Product Discussion

Hey everyone! I am excited to tell you about the newest Tabletop Armory product, released today, that is specifically for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Character Pages: Ready to Use Group Stats, Pack 1 features five pre-generated Level 1 characters for use in The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Perfect for gaming on the go, avoiding a pesky character creation session, or running a demo game or gaming at a con or gaming event, this pack includes:

- Five Level 1 characters, ready to use in any game for The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game

- An introductory story featuring all five characters and giving details into their personality and motivations.

- Detailed backgrounds and histories of each of the characters, explaining their motivations, personalities, and suggesting the style of play for the character.

- Character stat sheet, providing all of the necessary information for playing the characters right out of the book. All you do is print and play!

- Figure Flats paper minis for each of the five characters, in color and b&w, ready to be printed and easily assembled for tabletop battle map play.

We are really excited about this and other products soon to be released specifically for PFRPG, and we look forward to joining in on your games!

An interesting Idea. But $5.00 seems awfully steep for 5 pregenerated NPCs, 5 figure flats, and a short scenario. Maybe $1.99 is more appropriate.

How many pages is this (including OGL, cover, and flats)?

I looked at the link on drivethru. Any chance of a figure flats preview.

The first thing that jumps out to me when I look at the preview is that the skills on the character sheets are done 100% incorrectly. You said that these characters are specifically made to work in the Pathfinder roleplaying game, but you obviously used the DnD 3.5 rules for selecting skills- not the Pathfinder rules.

And with little mistakes all over the place (ie the Cleric getting a +8 bonus for having 18 Wisdom, instead of +4), and it makes me think that no one really proofread this before releasing it.

So 5 bucks for 5 (incorrectly done) level 1 characters? I think I'm going to pass.

I looked at the preview and it turns out the preview gives you the whole product to review. It is a generally well done product. I can't see buying it in advance but I could see splurging for it now that I know it's there if I find myself suddenly needing a pre-generated group. The $5 does seem a little high but $2 seems too low after looking at the whole product. The art is fairly high quality, though I prefer the double sided paper minis to the look of the figure flats, though there is no doubt the flats are easier to put together.

My main gripe about it would be that I prefer my female figures to be less scantily clad as my daughters tend to play the female pcs in our games and fully clothed pcs work better for us for a number of reasons.

I don't think they are 100% incorrect, thats a pretty gross exageration, but the skills do seem to need a minor bit of reworking. Survival seems to be used as a class skill for all of them, which I don't really mind, but it oughta be noted somewhere. And a few of them are just calculated using the wrong ability I think (for example the dwarf's climb is using dexterity instead of strength). Most of the small "1"s seem to represent ability skill bonuses, not 1 skill point. Once you realize this, they are not too far wrong, just a few minor errors.

Except that the whole point of buying pre-generated characters is that you don't HAVE to edit them yourself. If I have to take the time to proofread 1st level characters to make sure they're accurate, I can just roll some up. Seems a little unprofessional for the cost.

Though the full preview now up is a nice touch. (And I think the art is stock art from another company that you can buy for your own products. I've seen some of this is a few other things, like TOme of Secrets and some LJP designs).

I have read what you have said for feedback for this product, and I fully admit that there are, after a review, a couple of typos that will be fixed soon. Fortunately, with digital products this is easy to do. As to the skills, I can guarantee that they are indeed Pathfinder Roleplaying Game selected, and I will make sure they correctly reflect this upon revision.

I appreciate the constructive points and genuine nature of the majority of the feedback so far, and I will post here when the product has been revised.

Thank you again, and I hope that you all will enjoy our efforts in the future.

As of now, the Character Pagesproduct is back on DriveThruRPG and fixed. I know there is a lot that can be said about human error and nothing ever being perfect the first time, but I hope that you will take another look at the pre-gen pack, as I have listened to the feedback with great interest.

One of our goals as the company grows is to make sure we do listen, and I thank everyone who had already done given an opinion on this product. The link to the updated page is below.

Thank you again, and I look forward to our next Pathfinder release, which is set to be a brand new adventure module.

Gaming on,

The skills do look a lot cleaner now. And $3 is a good price for it. I might now go ahead and pick it up next week after I get paid and actually have some money.

Yes, $3.00 is a much better value. Now I might pick it up.

Thanks.
