Sorceror / Dragon Disciple confused about bloodline feats / spells / powers progression.

Rules Questions

Playing Age of Worms and we are converting characters to pathfinder.... so my guy is a level 3 barbarian, 2 sorceror and 10 DD, about to take a 3rd level in sorceror. What should his total # of regular feats, blood line feats, blood line spells and bloodline powers be.... I am finding the progression and overlap between the sorceror tree and the DD tree confusing. Thanks in advance for any help.

Bloodline Powers: Dragon Disciple stacks with Sorcerer (assuming a dragon bloodline) for Bloodline Powers. Your current guy would thus be effectively a 12th level Sorcerer for Bloodline Powers. This means his Claws would deal 1d6 damage plus 1d6 of your energy type and be treated as magic weapons for the purposes of DR. You'd also have the Dragon Resistances and a Breath Weapon usable twice per day (once for getting it from the total Sorc + DD powers, and once from 3rd level DD).

Bloodline Feats: You gain Bloodline Feats separately based off the sorcerer or DD progression. A 2nd level sorcerer would gain none. A 10th level DD would gain three.

Bloodline Spells: These also are in the "Blood of the Dragons" DD ability, but stack in a unique way. You stack your DD and Sorcerer levels to check your bloodline spells, but only gain them if you could actually cast spells of that level. Checking, you would get mage armor (3rd), resist energy (5th), fly (7th), fear (9th), and spell resistance (11th). As a 2 sorcerer / 10 DD, you are an effective 9th level sorcerer for casting purposes, which means you can cast up to 4th level spells. You could get mage armor, resist energy, fly, and fear as bonus spells, but you could not get spell resistance yet as you cannot cast 5th level spells. As soon as you took your next level in sorcerer, however, you would get access to 5th level spells and immediately gain spell resistance as a bonus spell. Form of the Dragon I is the next possible bonus spell, and at next level you have enough levels for it, but will not be able to gain it as a bonus spell until you can cast 6th level spells.

Hopefully that helps.

so my character would have also for example the SA form of the dragon 1 & 2 from being a 10 level DD, and would also get it (fotd1) again as a bonus 6th level bloodline spell if he attained enough caster levels.......

Liberty's Edge

You add Draconic bloodline sorcerer levels to your DD levels for powers. You would essentially have the bloodline powers of a level 12 draconic bloodline sorcerer as per Blood of Dragons.

So in total, you would have:

Spells as a level 9 Sorcerer
4 Bloodline Feats
Breath weapon 2/day (12d6, DC16 + Cha Bonus)
Claw, Claw, Bite (1d6+1d6 energy)
Resistance 10 of your energy
+5 Natural Armor
form of the dragon II (ECL 12)
Fly 60 (average)
Bonus Spells (Mage Armor, Resist Energy, Fly, Fear)
Blindsense 60 feet
+4 STR, +2 CON, +2 INT

That's mostly correct, except for the Bloodline Feats, of which he would only get three. The ability that the Dragon Disciple gives allows DD and Sorcerer levels to stack for the purpose of Bloodline Powers and Bloodline Spells (with the stipulation that the character must be capable of casting a spell of that level to get it). Bloodline Feats are not included in this, rather they have their own progression throughout the DD class and are given three times.

Correct.

Thanks Guys.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I had a question about the spells/day. If the dragon disciple progresses sorcerer spells levels what happens when you take sorcerer levels after that. Do you just keep progressing the same way? For instance, a Sor 5/DD 4 would cast spells as an 8th level sorcerer, but then he takes another level of sorcerer, does it just progress spells/day, and spells known as if he's a 9th level sorcerer?

If so, what happens if he progresses beyond a 20 CL? Say Sor 11/DD 10?
