Character is falling 100 ft, but wearing a ring of feather falling.
1. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls for 60 ft., ring turns off, character takes 35 (40 ft.) of falling damage?
2. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls for 60 ft., ring turns off, character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character lands safely?
3. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls 95 ft. and lands safely?
4. Character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character falls 60 ft. End of round. Next round, character falls 5 ft., ring activates, character lands.
Which one is the correct scenario. I'm guessing #4 is way off, and its either 1 or 2. I'm hoping 2, maybe 3, or my pathfinder society character just wasted 2,200 gp.
Thanks

#3. The character floats safely the entire way.

Yeah... the ring of feather falling works all the time forever. It will protect you from a fall of any distance, since it doesn't say that "this effect works only once per day" or "this effect only protects you from a fall of a certain amount of distance."
Most magic items work this way. They're better, as a general rule, than the spell or spells used to create them as a result, which is the whole point of the magic item. It's something that goes beyond the basic use of the spell itself.

cool, thanks! I'm used to the search engine from another certain roleplaying website which sucks and is completely useless. Guess you could say I'm prejudice toward searh engines. And you even showed me an "official" answer! You rock, Ogre!

No need to be a little jerky. Just simply missed the specific number in the spell description.
Thanks though.

NP man. Message boards and email...hard to read mood.
Lovin the fish!
I should know better than use words like lazy, wasn't intending to belittle folks. :D
