Can a cavalier use elven curve blade mounted?

Rules Questions

I'm creating an elven cavalier and will be using an elven curve blade. Given that it's a two handed weapon, can it be used while mounted?

Yup, you just need to make the usual DC5 Ride check to direct your mount with your knees each round. It would be no different than using a one-handed weapon along with a heavy shield. It shouldn't take too much effort to get to the point where that ride check an automatic success (since natural 1's aren't an auto-fail), but don't forget to take your Armor Check penalty into account.

He's a Cavalier. ACP doesn't apply to his Ride checks on his mount.

Oh, nice. I haven't read up on the class in detail yet.

Awesome, thanks!

Do ACPs apply to ride checks beyond fast mount/dismount?

Checking the SRD it doesn't seem like they even apply there in Pathfinder.

Note the heading in the PRD:

PRD, Skill Descriptions, Ride wrote:

Ride

(Dex;Armor Check Penalty)

It's also flagged with a 'yes' in the appropriate column of the skill table. Pathfinder removed the situational penalty (applying only to fast mount/dismount) and now uses it for all Ride checks.

Yes. ACP applies to all Ride checks in Pathfinder, which is a change from 3.5 (and one I've complained bitterly about in several threads in the past).

Well then here's a place where we agree. Knights in armor are harder to manage now.
