Okay. What does the 7 ranks mean? Must my charakter be level 7 (with 7 ranks in 2 knowledge skills), or is (for example) level 5 enough, if I count the 3 bonus ranks from the class-skill into the required 7 ranks?

Yes. You must have 7 levels to have 7 ranks in a skill. The extra 3 are gained if it is a class skill.

The extra 3 are not ranks. They are just a bonus. You would have to be level 7 to get 7 ranks. At 8th level you could take you first level of Lore Master.
Okay, that explains my problem. I always thought, the bonus of 3 were also "ranks" and would count as "real" skillranks.
Bad luck for me and my Loremaster-to-come ;-)
