Dinosaur Minis?

Miniatures

I'm looking to buy some dino minis to complement the DDMs that I currently have. So does anyone know where I can get my hands on dino minis that are about on the same scale as the DDMs?

I would suggest going to a toy store/department. You can often find dinosaur toys of a size appropriate.

Ditto. Or wander by a Michael's hobby store, they often have plastic animals, as do big chain stores like Target. I has plenty.

My friend has an exceptional T Rex we just use in Council of Thieves as an illusion. I'll find out where it's from.

You want Safari Ltd. The Michael's stores carry these, and I've found them to be excellent in terms of proportionality to DDM figs, in relative size to one another, and in quality. Their fantasy line actually has some nice items as well (dragons, minotaurs, griffons, etc.) and their "Mega Toob" line also has some nice smaller-sized offerings like insects, aquatic animals, jungle animals, etc. I've got a 6-year old son and so these do double duty at my house. I can attest to their durability after being buried in mud, pelted with rocks (reenacting a meteor strike), left in the sun/rain/snow, and subjected to all of the harsh conditions a boy can create...

Yeah, the Michael's "grab bags" aren't too bad - and they've got lots more than just dinos too.

Thanks E7, those definitely look fantastic.

Try the Shcleich range as well. A german company, but their range is carried by nearly all the main stores hear in Australia, so I figure you'd have similar luck where you are.

Dino skulls makes for good scenery.
I found a tube of dinosaurs that weren't from Safari LTD. that I liked because they look better. I will try to figure out what brand they were. I based them on cheap mini bases and most ended up large-sized.

Yep, the Safari Toob line is nowhere near as good for dinos as their bigger lines. That's the first time I'd seen the Dino Skulls toob--definitely looks like some nice scenery! Ancient Fossils Toob and Ancient Egypt Toob (branching outside the dino theme of this thread) look like they'd be good for this as well.

Fom one dino fan to another, I'm glad you approve. ;)
