I'm confused about the base speed of horses in Pathfinder, and my search-fun didn't turn up anything on that specific topic.
The PRD says that (light) horses have a base speed of 50'. While there are instructions for advancing the basic light horse to a heavy horse, that affects things like Strength but not speed.
The PF core rulebook lists both light horses and heavy horses (p. 174). An unencumbered light horse has a speed of 60' (it basically doubles the distance that a speed 30' character can manage in one hour or day). Only the unencumbered heavy horse has a speed of 50'.
So which is it for the various horses' base speed(s) - 50' or 60'?

Bestiary says 50' I'd go with that.
I can't find the 60' speed listed in p.174, did you calculate it from the daily traveling distances?
It's really possible that these are simply copypasted from the 3.5 manual when light horses had a speed of 60'.
One more thing to add to the errata.
Use distances listed for heavy horses and you're set.

Yup, I did indeed calculate the light horse's speed to be MV 60' by comparing the MV 30' one hour overland/one day overland distance covered (table 7-6, p. 172) with the unencumbered light horse's per hour/per day distances (table 7-9, p. 174).
Since you're the only one to answer (thanks!), I'll go with the Bestiary's MV 50'.
<start rant>
Errata ... maybe someone will _finally_ fix the mistake (carried over from 3.0 and 3.5) on the light source/illumination table (7-10, p. 174) with regard to the duration of certain magical light sources!
Daylight is 10 minutes/caster level (usually _minimum_ 50 minutes), not a straight 30 minutes. Light is also 10 minutes/caster level, not a straight 10 minutes.
