Fist leaps to his feat and hurtles toward the front door, hefting his massive maul. Although Torrent's lantern fails to light the area out in the frozen street at all, Fist still manages to make out the shadowed figures as they drop some sort of battering ram and swings the maul overhead. He hears a satisfying thud and grunt, but even though he swung with all his fury, the man in the door holds his ground.

Thom moves quickly across the common room towards the bar, and glimpses the enemies outside. praying there are no Inquisitors amongst them, he prepares a simple spell for the first target to enter the room.

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

Arrika rises, grabs her halberd and moves to open the alley door so that the group has a way out of the place.

Move to K6, then open the door.

While the group of heroes spreads across the barroom, Arrika dashes to the side door, slides back the bolt and throws the door to the darkened alley open. A gust of cold air brings a bit of snow and the continued inexplicable thumps, followed by the occasional scream. Something strange is going on out there. Of more immediate concern, though, is the small of pack of dogs that faces Arrika, growling and with foam dripping from their jaws.

The closest one to the door snaps at Arrika, crushing her forearm through her chain armor 4 points of damage.

Torrent rises from her chair with a look of alarm, hefts her gleaming battleaxe, and stands between the dogs at the door and Audric, clearly moving to shield him.

A creak on the stairs and the sounds of several pairs of boots draws attention in that direction. At least two men are creeping down from the second floor, crossbows at the ready. These are military-looking humans, wearing dark clothes and red armbands (each sporting an image of a black horse-head on it).

Willy, seeing the new threat, hurls a slingstone in that direction, but it is deflected by a beam supporting the banister. Audric, however, points toward the stairs and a brilliant flash of light strikes the crossbowman from above, covering him in cold, radiant light. Thom also sees this new threat, dangerously close to him, and pokes his wand at the closest man on the stairs. The scout ducks an imaginary bolt, screams as if it struck him anyway bloodied, and stumbles down the stairs to the floor below.

His companion, looking around the room, dips a hand into his pouch, pulls a small stone from within, and flings it into the middle of taproom (F6). When the stone hits the ground, it explodes with a thunderous explosion. Willy is protected from the worst of the blast by the bar, but Thom and Fist both clutch at their heads, their ears ringing (both are dazed and deafened (save ends)). The wounded crossbowman, seeing his opening, fired his loaded weapon at Thom, but even with his ears ringing the wizard twists out of the way, and the bolt thuds into the bar behind him.

Meanwhile, the thug standing in the doorway, who seemed to be waiting for his opening, takes advantage of thunderstone's detonation and shoves Fist in the chest, sending him stumbling backward into the room. The thug follows him into the room, hefts his sap, and shouts, "Drop your weapons and come quietly. We don't want to break your valuable little heads." Torrent, in response, laughs and says, "Just try it, buddy."

The other shadowed shapes in the street see their opening and scurry into the room. Fist, still clutching his ears, is unable to take advantage of their movement, and they sneak past him. Swinging saps, each runs to a different target and connects Thom, Fist, Audric, and Torrent take 4 damage.

Suddenly, the entire building shakes and a deafening boom sounds overhead. The armed men seem just startled as you by the explosion, and, before anyone can react, ceiling boards crack and buckle, and flaming oil leaks down into the room like a fiery rain. Overhead, a handful of screams sound out and an additional crossbowman stumbles down the stairs, covered in flames and screaming, finally collapsing at the feet of his compatriot, and dies. A bronze bust of Emperor Coaltongue falls off the wall behind the bar and lands next to Willy with a thud. The burning trickles of oil dribble down onto the scout at the foot of the stairs, Thom, Willy, Torrent, and Arrika, lighting their hair and skin on fire 3 points of fire damage It is clear that the building is coming down.

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

As the fire debris starts to fall around her, Arrika laughs with glee and jabs at one of the foes, then slides into the bar, trying to lure the dogs within.

Furious Smash against the recruit fighting Audric (reach is fun). Targets AC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14. On a hit, the recruit takes 3 damage and Audric has +3 on his next to hit and damage roll against the recruit as long as the attack is made by the end of my next turn. I then shift to J5.

Arrika's halberd whistles past Audric's shoulder, catches the recruit's armband, and finally embeds itself in the table next to the two of them (no bonus to Auric). Ignoring the fire falling from the ceiling, she slides away from the door.

From outside, Arrika hears a gravelly voice shout, "Sauce! Bacon! Liver! Stay!" and the three dogs hold their ground outside the door, growling and barking at everyone inside.

Torrent glances over her shoulder at the dogs, then swings her battleaxe savagely. The recruit facing her goes down with barely a scream, clutching his belly where the axe bit deep.

There is no one in F6. That is an attempt to hide a terrain feature I didn't like.

Willy fires his sling across the room at the recruit that is menacing Thom and is satisfied to see the fellow crumple after the stone cracks into his temple.

Audric hexes another one of these ruffians, noting in passing that there is some sort of writing stitched onto the fellow's armband, below the black horse-head on the red field. He then vaults the table and lurches across the room as his foe takes the opportunity to smack Audric with his sap (Opp. Attack hits for 4 damage to Audric). Audric turns and fires a bolt of pure magic in retaliation, but the bolt flies wide and shatters the boarded-up window behind the man.

Thunderwave is a close bast, not a close burst. Thus, without moving, Thom can target either B4 and B6 OR F8, G8, Fist, and Audric (it hits friends as well as foes). It would move things along if you rolled Attack rolls for all the possible targets at once. So, either 1 one more attack roll or 3 more, depending on your targets. Only one damage roll is necessary, though. Finally, note that your save happens at the end of your turn; only Fist gets one at the beginning. Maybe I am just confused by the order of your presentation, but I wanted to make sure that was clear. Thanks.

OK no problem, been a little while since i did 4E. He will go after the 2 targets in B4 and B6.

You can use the first results for B4. Here is B6: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 vs. Fort, Add +2 to Damage if both hit.

The air in front of Thom's outstretched hand begins to waver and crash of thunder echoes up the stairs, but both the scouts manage to stand against the crash of noise, merely grimacing against the waves buffeting them.

The closer of the two thugs, dripping blood from his wounds already, drops his crossbow and pulls a nasty-looking morningstar from a hook on his belt, he steps closer to Thom and swings mightily. Thom can't get out of the way in time and takes a blow to his midsection (7 damage to Thom). The crossbowman on the stairs sees his opening, reloads, and fires at Thom, as well, and the bolt flashes into Thom's chest with a thunk (Critical Hit: 7 damage to Thom).

The thug standing before Fist swings his sap furiously, but the weapon bounces off the half-orc's armor ineffectually. The other figure menacing Fist shifts to eventually maneuver into a flanking position, but his sap is equally useless as he swings at the furious half-orc.

The other recruit, after ducking the blast of magic, slides around the table after Auric and swings his sap hard, putting an ugly welt on Audric's head (4 damage to Audric).

Suddenly, a cracking sound is heard from above, and it becomes very clear that a section of the burning ceiling is giving way and is going to begin to cave into the room in mere moments. You can all see that the ceiling above columns I, J, and K, rows 4-8, will be subject to falling debris sometime in the upcoming turn.

Fist the half-orc calls upon the spirits of his ancestors and manifests horns atop his head and the cloven hooves of a ram, he leaps across the room in a mighty charge and swings his maul, not connecting with all his strength miss but still managing to get enough force into the blow to crumple the already wounded scout to the ground (side note: you couldn't have pushed the scout to B4, as pushes must move targets away from you and that would be the same distance. It doesn't matter, though, since you incapacitated him.). Still channeling the power of the ram spirit, Fist turns to the crossbowman on the stairs, swings his maul once more and connects solidly, eliciting a scream from the wounded man bloodied. Again, you can't push him down the stairs, since that would be closer to you. I assume you don't want to push him back up to the second floor, since that would make it impossible for your allies to target him, so I left him where he is. You still get the temporary hit points, of course.

Meanwhile, Arrika leaps across the table toward the recently shattered window and notes that it remains boarded from the outside, which limits is possibilities as an escape route. Undaunted, she swings her halberd across the room at the recruit menacing Audric and manages to slash him across the back, sending him to a floor in a heap. Her words of encouragement bolster Thom, as well Thom heals: healing surge + 8 hp.

Before anyone can do much else, though, the ceiling in the eastern half of the room begins to collapse, raining broken wood and flaming oil down on the Torrent and Arrika 5 damage to Arrika, the ground in that area is littered with debris and is difficult terrain but the area is now safe, otherwise.

Gain 3 Temp HP on Hit

If Fist hits the Scout hard enough then he will take a move action to bother the Thug and Mark the Thug; otherwise, Fist will stay put and Mark the Scout.

Male Half-Orc Warden 1 xp 325

Well my last hit on the scout did 14 and that bloodied him and this one did 12 so there is a good chance that I will be moving.(no move if Scout still on his feet)

Ram Form gives Speed of 8 currently but only need to go to C5 to C6 to D7 to E8.

Free Action = Nature's Wrath to apply Mark

passing on the minor action and finishing the turn.

Fist's maul leaves another bruising impact on the scout, and he crumples without going down. He wipes blood from his lip and hefts his morningstar.

Map is unchanged. Arrika is up.

Female Tiefling Warlock 9

Arrika goes through the window, and then attacks the Thug from behind.

Move to F10. (2 diagonal, 2 left. I'm assuming the move through the window costs 2 squares, if it's more, I get as far as I can on my intended route.). Rousing Assault vs F8 thug. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22. On hit 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 and any healing power I use before EOMNT heals an additional 3.

I said earlier that the boarded-up windows weren't really a viable option for exiting the bar, but, if you use an Action Point, I'll allow it.

Arrika quickly knocks several boards out of the window frame and slide through the subsequent gap. Quickly tumbling into the street, she leaps from the snow-covered ground, dashes to the door, and strikes the thug in the entrance-way from behind. He staggers forward but manages to maintain his feet. At which point, she notices the man on the horse at the end of the alley. Hidden under grey plate armor is a tightly muscled man, his armor worn from many battles and marked with symbols of sacred honor. His eyes have a darkness like a judge laying sentence. A broken helmet, cloven in the face, hangs from his belt. A raven stands on his right shoulder, staring at Arrika with black eyes. He whistles to the dogs and turns, leading them off, seemingly disinterested in the results of the battle in the bar. Arrika also notes that The Poison Apple is not the only building in the city that is ablaze, and it seems that the Ragesian attack has begun. Screams and thunderous booms drift on the frigid wind.

The ceiling then continues its collapse, raining debris and flames onto those in the taproom. Thom and Willy manage to avoid the worst of it, Torrent and the thug in the door take solid hits. 2 damage to Thom and Willy, 4 damage to Torrent and the thug. Every square inside the building in columns D-K is difficult terrain.

Torrent shrugs a beam from her shoulder, shuffles through the debris, and moves to flank the thug in the door. She swings her axe wildly, trying to rub the ash from her eyes, and fails to make contact with anything.

EDIT: The map is slightly off. Arrika should be in F10, not F9. I'll correct it on the next iteration.
