I want to cast overland flight on my golem/shield guardian. Is that possible with Magic Immunity?

EDIT: Ahh I think I get it now, this has to do with the Spell Storing quality. I would guess that unfortunately it would be immune since Fly (and therefor Overland Flight) allows for SR. If you are constructing it however you would presumably be able to 'build in' Overland Flight as one of the spells that affects it specifically.

No, I meant casting it on the golem (which I guess doesn't work), but I'm willing to accept alternatives.
Couldn't the golem lower his magic immunity like a person lowers spell resistance (since it is functionally the same)? I would think a golem would always do this before using a stored spell on himself.
Hrmm, hard to say really. I suspect a GM ruling since the only examples under Iron Golem talk about it being attacked. It might be possible for it to accept a spell like that. Good question though.

It's not spell resistance so he can't "lower" it, and it's an Extraordinary ability so it works in anti-magic and the like. It's very much not functionally the same. I think the idea of spell storing was more to store utility/attack spells, not golem-targeting buffs.
Also most golems are non-intelligent and can't "choose" anything.
However beyond that it's a specific immunity to magic so SR isn't even involved (as meatrace said). They just use the SR line to figure out if someone is actually immune or not.
Ah. It appears it works differently than it did in v3.5. In D&D it specifically said it was essentially infinite spell resistance.

If the immunity can be willfully lowered, it should be as simple as the controller commanding it of the golem.

No they still work fine the Magical Immunity says;
An iron golem is immune to spells or spell-like abilities that allow spell resistance.
