Casting Spells With damage to the caster

Rules Questions

Im not sure if we played this wrong during 3.5 but we always played it was damage you took the entire turn was your difficulty for your concentration check not just damage you took from held actions or AOO

Did that change in Pathfinder or did we always play this wrong under 3.5

You always played it wrong. Unless casting a 1 round spell (not a full action but even longer), only actions taken on the caster's turn (readied actions and continuing damage) count to disrupting his spells. Doesn't mean your rule isn't better, just that it makes spellcasting harder, especially for the bad guys who tend to have less shielding than the PCs
