Rise of the Runelords

I'm going to be starting up Rise of the Runelords soon, and I decided to think up some interesting items to have Ilsoari show the party if they ask to see his adventuring collection. Please feel free to add any items you've come up with, the more the better.

- A golden bust of an Ossirian pharaoh.

- A map that seems to depict Varisia, but where the coast should be there's more land.

- The tooth from a Linnorm

- An eyestalk from a Beholder

- A map that purports to show Azlant before the Starfall

- A displacer beast skeleton

- A shard from one of the Final Blades of Galt

- A Red Mantis saw-toothed saber

Thanks for this, I'm going to use all of this when my players go back.

Heh. My players went there for the first time last week.

My story is that Ilsori is the only survivor of an adventuring party that consisted entirely of people who were all orphans for one reason or another. They were good friends who had lost their parents to plague, goblin attacks, etc. and that was the common thread that made them friends when they first met (in a Magnimar Tavern of course.) They only made it a few levels before the rest of the party died on a quest North of Korvosa, so Ilsori took the remaining money and returned home to Sandpoint to take over the Academy. What he has is momentos from the party's adventures set up in a lounge-type setting:

-Hollowed out Basilisk leg (like an elephant foot umbrella stand) filled with Manticore spikes

-Maps of the Cinderlands

-Books of copied Thassalonian Runes found on various plinths and old statues

-Longsword+1 (named Cambinar) and Armor (Chainmail+1)from the party fighter (Kley Dain)

-Holy Symbol (Sarenrae), vestment, and shield from the party Cleric (Rhemma Turkle)

-Brace of daggers (including Stilltooth, a dagger +1, +3 when thrown), Thieves tools, tunic, and Studded Leather +1 from Tyrsia Vranjiki, the party rogue and Ilsori's lover

-Several old spellbooks with a few L1 and L2 wizard spells

-jar of basilisk teeth

-Hellknight helmet...

-Prayerbooks to Sarenrae, Desna, Calistria, and Nethys

-Two vials of Giant Centipede Poison and a pair of giant centipede mandibles

-a jar of polished stones (Kley collected stones from every adventure they went on, polishing them at night to calm his nerves)

-several unidentified scrolls (two in Shoanti, two in Thassalonian)

-Several Owlbear claws

-a pair of Reefclaw claws

-maps of Riddleport, Magnimar, Korvosa, and a few nearby spots

-quiver with goblin, hobgoblin, orc, elf, gnoll, taldor, chelish, and shoanti arrows

-several journals

Only half of the party took up his invitation to view the library (after they dealt with the attic whisperer a few weeks ago) but there were bits and pieces of history and such that they enjoyed. (And the weapons and armor are there in case the party really needed the extra help).

Ilsori means well, but he's a bit eccentric and likes to put on a bit of a show for the kids. For example, he always pretends to "dispel" a "powerful ward" before going into the basement museum, to keep the kids out. (The party wizard caught onto this immediately, though the party paladin and barbarian still think the basement is magically protected.)
