Channel Smite and Channeled Spells stack?

Rules Questions

I have a class feature(from Ordained Champion prestige class) that lets me channel a cleric spell through my weapon as a move action.

I also have the Channel Smite feat which lets me channel energy through my weapon as a swift action.

It seems to me that these could both be used in the same round for the same attack. Are there rules about channeling more than one power through an attack at one time or is this perfectly legal?

Upon reviewing a the core rulebook I have yet to find anything addressing whether or not multiple powers can be channeled through an attack at once.

Any thoughts?

I don't see why not. I don't have access to the Ordained Champion text, but I don't think the two abilities interfere with each other.

Not many people are stamping their feet about nerfing the Channel Smite feat anyway. . .

Yeah, channel smite is kind of weak anyway since it reduces an aoe attack to a single target.

Well it does make the channel a swift action meaning you an still get in a channel AND an atk in one round instead of being limited to one or the other.

The character I mentioned earlier can channel against outsiders so in one atk I can hit a demon with my mace for 1d8 + a 7d6channel + a 12d6 slay living spell.

I can add a couple other features I have too(like smite and empowering the slay living spell), so barring any saving throws made by the demon it's an atk that does well over 100pts of damage.

You have to make the attack roll against the demon, otherwise the channel is lost. I don't know if the Ordained Champion's spell on attack is lost. Demons typically have pretty high AC.

Then the demon must fail a will save vs. the channeled smite (which takes 2 feats to get vs. outsiders). Demons usually have good Will saves.

Then the demon must fail an SR check versus the slay living.

Then the demon must fail a fortitude save.

The chances of getting all that damage applied is usually pretty slim against challenging demons.

True but at lvl 17 my atk bonus against a demon is around +24 I realize getting the Slay living off without a hitch is risky but I think the damage is still worth it even at half dmg.

If you want a high damage dealing Cleric I think it's the way to go. I've had this character for years and this is the first time I'm able to do serious damage in combat. Before he was a standard healbot that occasionally managed to get a good spell off.
