In the February episode of Know Direction, I am joined by Matthew LeClair to talk about Paizo Fiction and RPG Superstar 2010, then we review Wayfinder #2. I follow that up with an interview with Jason Bulmahn about the Advanced Player's Guide. All that and more in Know Direction episode 7!

cool

so this podcast is monthly?

Wow!

This is actually the first one I've listened to and I really liked it! Very well done - I can't wait to check out the previous episodes.

One minor nitpick ... Mr. LeClair was very interesting, but maybe three quarters of the time he pronounced Paizo as 'Paazio'. For some reason that mispronounciation really jumped out everty time he did it ...

Really enjoyed the great interview with Jason!

Keep up the great work!

Yeah...sorry, the Paizo pronunciation is probably just a habit he got into, but that was stabbing my ear drums, too.

Otherwise, this may be my favorite show of yours so far.

I have been aiming to release Know Direction the last Friday of every month. At one point I thought about releasing at least one a month and trying two on occasion, but I just don't see it happening. One episode of Know Direction takes about three times as much pre- and post-production as a single episode of Private Sanctuary.

Thanks Marc. The last few episodes I've plugged in the Audio and Music subforum and received almost no responses. I think Pathfinder General Discussion is as good a fit and gets much more traffic.

As for Matthew and "Pazio", I'm not sure where that comes from. I did try to isolate audio of him pronouncing it properly and paste it over the mispronunciation, but it just didn't flow. I'm sure he can expand upon it, but I assume it's just a quirk.

I hope the nitpic didn't overpower the compliment: I vote it the best so far.

really? why is that?

Shadow Lodge

They tend to be a bit longer, more diverse, and also seems more a solo recording project, I think.

Just wanted to chime in that I really enjoy the podcast. In fact, listening to the podcast helped to convince me to play Pathfinder.

An episode of 3.5 Private Sanctuary is basically just a half-hour conversation between me and Jay. It's done in one take and usually only needs one editing pass. The only planning is finding a topic and writing a brief outline.

An episode of Know Direction is segmented, so I need to plan more, do research, contact co-hosts and guests, then plan interviews. And since I don't have the same face-to-face interaction as an episode with Jay, there are more pauses to delete and shifts in conversation to iron out.

Wow. That is the best compliment I've ever received about one of my podcasts.

so there is little chance of me getting my wish for 3 Know Directions per week?

It would kill me. But it's still a nice thing to wish for.

Mr LeClair! That's my father, not me. :P

As for the Paizo pronunciation thing it's just a strange habit. For some reason it comes out wrong.. in 3 different ways. I know it's Paizo, I think it as Paizo, it just comes out wrong.

I'll work on it if Ryan has me back again. ;)

It is a nice wish and I'd be happy to do it with you if it doesn't kill you. :)

Hey, at least you've not descibed an adventure path set in a rather land-locked part of Golarion as a good place for high seas piratey stuff. ;)

Geez, I finally had spare time to go back and relisten to the Bulmahn interview. Very well done!
